Behind the Mic

Starting Off

What's going on, guys? Just let me get a few more people up here. Finally, we have football finally starting. I mean, it's just been a brutal nine months. I know Rip is probably feeling the same way. we're finally getting football back. It was pretty good week. There's some big takeaways. I'm sure I'm going to get a little Caleb Williams hate, but other than that, the week was very good. some. We had some brutal injuries, which is unfortunate, but you know, that. That comes with football. So let me get a few more people up here, and then we'll kind of get started.

Matchups and Takeaways

Rip, if you can hear me, what were some of your biggest takeaways this week? Biggest takeaways? Should we wait for everyone to get in here, or do you want me to say it before that? Well, how about just give a quick rundown of the things you saw, then we'll kind of go in a deeper dive when you. When everyone else gets in here, specifically around this one matchup in the wolf sports league, it was the winning wolf, and it said, samuel Grisanzio, that. You know what, Rip? I have not lost yet. It is not the end of Monday night. No, no, you lost because I'm looking and it says you have no one yet to play, and you're losing. And, hey, it's one week, though. Congratulations for showing up. Maybe next time you'll do better.

Frustrations with Team Performance

You know, if I didn't have to host, maybe I would not have shown up. You know, I checked it, Gob. I'm like, did my team just decided not to play football? Like, I mean, Marvin Harrison, one catch, like, for a second round pick. That is unexcusable. Yeah. And I. And also Jamar Chase. Like, what was he doing? Yeah, I mean, look, Samuel, you're the manager. You're the one that sets the lineup. You tell us. I don't know why you're asking us. You tell us. I mean, we come on here weekly on Mondays. You know, they caleb this and Chicago that. And Rip doesn't know what he's talking about.

Situation Updates

And. And then I'm looking at the score. I'm like, wait a minute. What happened here? You know, it's you. Tropic. How about you go ahead, just. Just get rip out of here. Tropical head. I was gonna say, if it makes you feel better, I saw quite a few plays of. Marvin Harrison was wide open, but he was just. There was too much pressure for the past to get out. But he. He did his job. He got open. Just unfortunately didn't get the pass. So I don't know if that makes your situation worse or better, but, you know, traffic. I'm going to plug my team score just so you get some background on how my team performed.

Thoughts on Week 1

Presley, how did you, what did you think about the first week of the NFL season? I loved the first week. What's up, everyone? But yeah, my team. Sam, what was your score? I think I scored 103. Oh, fuck. See, I think I'm the lowest. And Baltimore defense scored me three points. Three points. And whoever I was playing against had Chicago and they got 26 points. So yeah, I got killed by my defense. My team did not perform very well. I'm going to do some moving around and some adjusting, but yeah, I think you beat me, Sam. I think I'm in the low. I think I was in the low 90.

Performance Issues

No, no, Presley, don't do that. Don't tell him he beat. He didn't beat anybody. I mean, he's literally hasn't beaten anybody. He's lost. He's got a nice double. He's got a nice lithe coming to. Well, hey, we can only. We can only go up from here, right, Rip? So thank you, Presley. We're going to be back better than ever. Listen, I think you can, but I don't know this guy Samuel. I mean, he's taken L's all season. I'd be surprised if he wins ever. Well, yeah, and then I see the Bears Caleb Williams has what, 79 yards? Like he had some good plays, but I mean, are you kidding me?

Injuries and League Performance

Romeo dunze out. He has a sprained MCL. Like, could my week have gotten any worse? Rip, I lost in four out of the five leagues I'm in. The only league I didn't lose in was the league me and Gav share a team. Oh, so basically it was cuz, Gav, that you won. So give him more credit because you were talking a lot of shit to him yesterday. Oh, Gav, look at the score. And then I look at the score and I'm like, you're losing. What is going on here? Oh, and I feel so much better. I won all my other leagues.

Struggles and Future Outlook

So, Sam. Yeah, yeah. No, like literally I didn't win a single league. Not a single one of my other leagues. I have Puka Nakua as my number one receiver. Okay, he's out for the year. I mean, my fantasy season could not have started out at a lower level. And there was not a gif that I could use to express my disappointment in my team. I looked, I kept looking, but it just wasn't there. I couldn't find one. I have to ask. Tip. Are we going to see more from Bijon Robinson? Because I drafted him first overall in one of my leagues.

Bijon Robinson Discussion

Yeah, don't be worried about that at all. What's up, everybody? Yeah, don't be worried about it at all. They were going against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh. If one thing we should all know about Pittsburgh, because this has been the case for years now, they are always going to have a really good defense. They're going to take away some of the best players. That's just what they do. And Bijon Robinson, I was actually a little bit more conservative on him. I mean, I had him ranked as my number two running back because I just feel. I felt like Saquon was just really going to tear the top off.

Analyzing Player Performance

And it's so far it looks like that he's going to be the number one running back with Christian McCaffrey out now. So, like, I really was big on Bijon Robinson, but I knew I had to temper my expectations because for the simple fact he was playing those Steelers and TJ Watt is a. Is a freaking juggernaut. Havoc, you name it, maven, like, whatever you want to say. The dude is, he was constantly in the back field. Almost every play that I saw him, there was a couple. He jumped offsides, but he was still, like, just. Just a second or a millisecond off. It was crazy. The dude is a monster.

Offensive Analysis

He's hard to defend. I knew he was going to be a game wrecker, but what I did like about Bijon Robinson is they got him in space. They got the ball to him in space and let him do his magic. It's going to get better. It might even get better this week, come going against the Philadelphia Eagles. But what I will say, though, is Kirk cousins, on the other hand. Oh, he looked. He looked dust, man. He looked dusty. He looked dusty and crusty out there. I don't know, maybe it's still because of the Achilles situation. Remember, he got that Achilles injury in October.

Injury Reflections

At the end of October, I believe it was. And, you know, he is not full a year yet. you know, from. Removed from that injury as Aaron Rodgers. He's. He's right out of here. Removed from that injury. And I think they both did the same type of surgery. But, you know, man, what a week one. I mean, the week one was crazy. I'm not trying to get off the Bichon Robinson thing, but I think that Bichon's going to be totally fine as long as he's healthy, don't even worry about it. He just didn't get in the end zone for you.

Player Evaluations

That was the thing. Love to hear it, tip. I love it. But you know what, I do got to come on here and I got to tell you, I think I might be wrong on a couple things. I think I might be wrong on Rashad White. I just didn't see the burst. There was a couple plays where I did see him burst off and I was like, okay, but this bucky Irving guy, he has a little bit of juice. And so that's something that does make me a little bit nervous because I was really high on Rashad White.

Offensive Concerns

I've been in spaces talking about him. You know, it's a good running back, three on your league, and then, you know, who could get possibly running back to production from. But I don't know, man. And then I was wrong on my Raiders offense. I know we're probably going to talk a little bit about it later and I know for sure me and Rippy rip, we definitely gonna talk about it come Thursday. But man, my raiders, that offense, the defense is great. The offense, on the other hand, I'm nervous.

Expectations Moving Forward

Oh, boy. Well, good thing I don't have anybody on that offense. But although my team didn't really perform well, tip was right. He told me to start Xavier worthy. I didn't start him. Of course. I listened to, you know, my gut instincts and someone else, but tip was right. So I'll give him that. We're going to go over to fantasy football forecasts. Fantasy football forecast, what was your biggest takeaway this week and how did your fantasy teams do? Fantasy teams were hit and miss. Couple key players didn't really live up to their billing.

Notable Performance Issues

Guy down in Washington Redskins or commanders, their receiver. He really didn't, though. But I wanted to back up tip on Bijon for you real quick. If you look, he did have five targets. He had 111 all purpose yards between rushing and receiving. So even though he didn't find the end zone, he was buried very much involved in the game plan, which I think will be the thing. And tip had a good point as well with that Pittsburgh D. That was a sneaky d taken in best ball on NFFC because you can get them at a late draft position and they scored some decent points.

Performance Reflection

But yeah, it was a good week one, fun week one, but the overall, like, the points were down and the quarterback play was just putrid, if you want my opinion. But I hope you do better in this next week in any fantasy aspect you need hit up. Of course, Tip or myself here at the fantasy football forecast. Yes, sir. Can I, can I add before tip comes back in? Sam, let me just throw this out. I just want to make a note. I think Bijan will be okay, but it is Rip.

Technical Difficulties

You did cut out. I don't know if it's just me. Can anybody else hear me? Yeah, I can hear. Yeah, we can hear you. I didn't hear anything. Rip was pretty apparent. You're going in and out, brother. Rip, unfortunately, you're cutting out a little bit. What I think he was gonna say is Sam is gonna win the fantasy league. That's what I think was the next word out of his mouth. I bet you.

Long-Term Predictions

I'm not cutting out now. There's no cutting out. I'm cutting up. Samuel is not gonna. Not only is Samuel not going to win the fantasy league, he might not win a game all season. You heard that loud and clear, I bet, right? Okay, let me just tighten it up. I see all those laughs. The people are here. The people are with me. They agree. Sam might not win a fantasy game this season. That's actually going to be the whole season long thing that we pay attention to.

Concluding Remarks

But more importantly, I was just mentioning this. I think Bijan is going to be okay. But his 3.8 yards per carry in week one is concerning. You like to see him at least over four. When he's got that much talent, he will get in the end zone. But bigger concern is what tip mentioned. Kirk Cousins looked awful. So that offense is either going to need Kirk Cousins to better or they're going to need to go to Michael Pennix by thanksgiving.

Introduction to Fantasy Football Insights

Tip. What's up, man? Yeah, I mean, so this is what I want to tell you guys about. Like, this is the way I look at fantasy football, right. It's very much matchup based and it's also trends, too. Well, you don't really have any trends to go off of because yesterday was week one, right? I mean, you go off the plate or the preseason, but if you really look at it, preseason is just for them to get in there, get in shape and, you know, play some football. They don't do very much in preseason on the offense or the defensive side. But what I will say is you pay attention to those strengths. The Tennessee Titans defense has always been pretty good. Like, it's not a bad defense and they always, they've always had the game record. Simmons, he's one of the top defensive linemen, they've got a secondary has been upgraded.

Evaluating Players in Week One

So I didn't think that it was going to be that bad for Caleb Williams, but I, it was also something I was like, man, I'm not going to put him in my top twelve because I've got to see now if he's, if he was playing the Panthers, then okay. All right then look, maybe 200 and 5250 plus yards and, you know, two touchdowns would have been something easy for him. But it's just sometimes we got to look at those matchups too. And again, it was week one. Week two should tell you a little bit more of a story. But about week four, week three or week four is when the story is being written. Like, you know, not necessarily, no, because there's always one offs, right? It's football any given Sunday. I get it. But it's also just paying attention to those little trends and things that come up. Like I wanted, you know, I wanted shares of the New Orleans offense because I was like, yo, I don't, look, it could be a shootout.

Observations on Games and Performances

I don't know how Panthers offense is going to look, but the defense sucks. Like, you know, like based off of all the players that they've lost and they're in a rebuilding process on there. So it's a lot about matchup base for me that I look at. And like I said, it is hard to call week one, though, because week one, you want to say that everybody is going to be, you know, everybody for the most part is going to look rusty. They're not going to be all together there. But week three ish, we should be able to really, really start to look at these trends and matchup based, you know, especially for like DF's and basketball leagues. Those are really where the matchup base comes in handy. Definitely. Definitely. We're going to go over to Tropic and just, you guys know, I might need to rotate a few speakers up here. We got a few people requesting, so just keep your responses quick and short and we'll keep pushing forward.

Discussion on Rookie Quarterbacks

Traffic. We'll go to traffic, then we'll go to saucy traffic. Go ahead, Tropic. Oh, my fault. I'm here talking with the mic off. My bad, my bad. As far as rookie quarterbacks. Bo, Nick, did you guys see that game? Because when I saw the stat line, I was like, let me go watch the game. And I saw the game and I, it, I mean, it's not going to win fantasy leagues, but the kid was just throwing and he wasn't just like Dinkin and Duncan, he was throwing downfield. I was pretty impressed with him. I don't know what you guys think about that, but I think there's some bright side there going to, going forward, I'm picking rookie of the year. Rookie of the year. Wow. Wow. Well, at least as it stands now, it's probably maybe Jaden Daniels, I'm going to guess. I mean, Caleb Williams didn't look great.

Concerns Over Established Quarterbacks

You know, our receiver gets hurt. Marvin Harrison caught one ball, so it is as open as it's ever going to be. We're going to go over to saucy. What's up, man? How are y'all? Cowboys actually looked super good, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. They always play good, they look really solid. But of course, the Browns and the Sean Watson look like they were just kind of falling apart. But I will say Joe Burrow. I'm a little worried about Joe Burrow. No one's talking about him because I guess all the heat is on the rookies, but yeah, Joe Burrow looked rough. I only say that because I had him on my fantasy. I thought he was going to come out kind of with some revenge. Did not look good, but yeah, I think Cowboys have a good chance this year. Defense looks good if the offense can just keep it together 100%.

Reflections on Team Performance

Tenement. What did you think about the Bengals or the. And by the way, guys, I probably was wrong about the Browns. I will say I thought they were going to be a sleeper this year. Tenement. What's up? So, yeah, no, I'm hearing a lot of good things that I actually fully agree with. Somebody made the point about quarterback play not looking great, points being down. I don't remember the exact set, but I did see something about how it was like the fewest quarterback touchdown passes in a week one is probably in like the last five years or something like that. So, yeah, that was interesting to see. I do attribute maybe some of that because we are seeing a much more rapid quarterback carousel happening around the league. I mean, guys are like giving up on guys a lot quicker.

Quarterback Dynamics in the NFL

You know, they're willing to move on as soon as they see, hey, this isn't the guy. See you later. I guess everybody but the Giants, they're still kind of tethered to Daniel Jones there, but everyone else seems to be kind of moving on quickly. Hey, we are done with this guy. Cast him aside. And to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see if Atlanta ends up doing that the same way with Kirk Cousins. Because Achilles injuries are tough and when you are on the wrong side of 30 and then you have an Achilles injury, it's like, it seems to be even tougher. So I, I mean, look, it is just one week, as we've all said, no need to overreact, no need to get super crazy. I mean, look, even the survivor pools, including the circa million survivor pool, is an absolute bloodbath this week where everybody took the Bengals and they looked awful.

Evaluating Joe Burrow's Fantasy Value

As far as Joe Burrow, I mean, I think he's overall fine, but at the end of the day, it's he's never going to be, as far as I'm concerned, an elite fantasy quarterback as far versus a real life quarterback, like, yeah, he's great. Real life quarterback fantasy. I mean, if you want elite guys, you have to have rushing upside. If you don't have rushing upside, you're always going to have days like that. I mean, look, even Patrick Mahomes, he threw, what, over 300 yards? But, like, if you're not getting touchdowns, if you're not getting rushing yards, if you're not getting rushing scores, you're not going to see those big weeks that carry your team. So that's where I kind of land on Joe Burrow is that maybe some of his perception is going to end up getting skewed just because he doesn't offer, though, that rushing upside.

Fantasy Quarterback Play Discrepancies

So even when maybe he has good games in real life football, his fantasy perception is always going to be seen as like, oh, Joe Burrow underperforming. But I don't know, that's just where I see is like, the juxtaposition of the fantasy versus real actual quarterback play doesn't necessarily always line up perfectly. 100% tip. Go ahead. Yeah, I think with the Bengals team, I think what you saw, or what we all saw was a team that just overlooked the Patriots. They just were going to move on to the next week. They thought they were going to get an easy win. But you got to understand, in the NFL there are no easy wins. Like, yeah, there's blowouts, there's wins that you're going, but you still, they got to do a little work for them.

Analysis of Bengals' Performance

And I think that the Bengals just, you know, they set t Higgins. I understand he, you know, re injured himself, but they just came out very, just kind of like, let's get over this week one game. You know, we're going to beat them. And look, now they found themselves owning one. And it's really ironic, it's really crazy that there's four teams. Three of them have already played in the AFC east. They're all undefeated. And now we get the jets going against a Christian McCaffrey list 49 ers. If these four teams could be one and, oh, who in the world on this panel or in this space would have predicted that those teams would be one and o coming out of this week? One? I sure as hell wasn't going to say because I had the Bengals Molly whopping the Patriots. I think everyone did.

Surprises from Week One

That was the, I think the biggest shock of the week. Other than a few of the bad plays from Kirk Cousins. But no, I agree. What's up? Follow sports. Hey, man, where are you? All over here talking about my patrons like that, man. Let's give them some props. Give them their flowers, they whooped their ass. They kept them to zero to the third quarter. Let's not forget, guys, all right? Took care of business. We went out there, we did what we had to do. But let's get aside from that situation, a lot of great matches. I like that. I saw this week a lot of unfortunate injuries.

Injuries and Player Impact

We got Christian McCaffrey out at the last second before playing against the Jets. I wouldn't be surprised if all the AFC east teams do come out undefeated in week one. It's very possible. We really haven't seen the identity of the 49 ers like that for a minute without Christian McCaffrey. So pretty interesting to see what happens tonight with. I think it's Jordan Mason that's being plugged in for running back today or something like that. As far as my fantasy football matchups went, I'm in a pretty nitty gritty situation right now. This guy has Garrett Wilson. I have nobody else to play. It's 122 to 112. I'm hoping that the 49 ers can hold down the defense and really keep them to absolute zero, Dunzo, because I already got one win this week.

Managing Fantasy Roster Challenges

I lost in my other league, but if I can take at least two with me this week, that would be great. The biggest injury for me this week was Puka Nakua. Very, very upset about that. He's going to be out for the next four weeks, so I have to figure out another issue situation here and who's going to be my backup wide receiver. Still trying to figure that out. there's just so much going on. A lot of, I won't say basic, but, I just very low quarterback play this week for a lot of teams. I'm very disappointed in Kirk Cousins with his play this week. I expected him to have somewhat of a better game, but then again, that Steeler defense was really kicking ass this week.

Challenges of Quarterback Efficiency

I mean, TJ Watt, I don't even know how many sacks he got this game, but the guy's a beast. It might just be the o line for Atlanta, but TJ Watt was cooking Kirk Cousins ass this weekend. I mean, curse Kirk Cousins was basically best friends with the turf this week based on the way I saw that gameplay. One game that really stood out to me. Sam, you know, I got to talk about this, but those bears, man, had it not been for that defense, I'm a little concerned. I know it's only week one, but now you take Roma doomsday out, we don't know how long he's going to be out for. Yes, it's a sprain, but, you know, it can get reaggravated.

Implications for Future Games

We don't know. So I really want to see what cable can pull out of his pocket next week. First game, I'm gonna give him props. You know, there's a couple things he did pretty good. You know, it's first game, you know, you got to get the jitters out. You're gonna make those, you know, first time rookie mistakes against a faster version of college football. A lot of these rookies, you know, they move and they do all these magical things in college and everybody's like, oh, yeah, they're going to be great. You know, I was one of those people who say he's going to be like Patrick homes, but shortly, you know, I learned that's the welcome to the NFL this week, but I do see a bounce back.

Caleb's Mindset and Team Dynamics

You know, it's nothing like he said himself. He doesn't care about stats. He cares about the win and he's going to do whatever it takes to get to the win. And honestly, I give him kudos for saying it doesn't matter about the stats because not many quarterbacks really say that. So very interesting for that mindset that Caleb does have. As far as that, I have nothing much else for this week. Love to hear it. Thanks for having you. We're going to go over to fun football. What's up? Nice, man. Okay, so the one thing I want to remember, remind people in the Bengals is they're extremely top heavy.

Evaluating the Bengals' Offense

And yes, I like Jermaine Burton, but Higgins was out and chase barely played and he, weren't even sure he was going to play. So I want to get the Bengals more time, but not just them, all these guys. A lot of these players play less and less free like preseason than they used to. So in these offensive lines, that's where you see, like the blocking mishaps and on defense, you see tackling like subpar. Quarterback play was down last year. In general, I think it's going to take three to four weeks to come together. It's sad that the NFL is in the state, but it just is. So the other big surprise for me was the Cowboys.

Surprises and Observations from Week One

I was surprised they didn't do this last year. And that's really the data we go off of week one. We just it's recency bias. We look back and they went in and just beat down a bear, a brown steed that was great at home last year, and they shellacked them and they didn't like their offense, wasn't like that impressive. It was good, but they took it to the Browns. Their defense was excellent. So that is one team I'm a little worried about is the Browns, gotta say. So. I don't know.

NFL Performance and Player Evaluations

Other than that, I'm, you know, don't. Even though Jaden Reid had a great week one and I had Saquon Barkley in that game as well, so that was legit. Don't start any packers for a few weeks. I'm not a big believer. Malik willis. I'll just say that. 100%. Yeah. I think a lot of teams struggled top to bottom. We're going to go over to Colton. Colton, what's up? Hey, how's it going, guys? You guys got me? We got you. Okay. Perfect.

Fantasy Insights from Colton

Yeah. So I think one of the things that kind of jumped out to me, I have Andrews in two of my leagues. The target share between him and likely was a little bit concerning for me, obviously. Again, everybody's saying it's week one, but like, that was like a landslide. I think it was something like twelve to three or something like that. In terms of targets, obviously, the Ravens run a lot of two tight end sets. It'd be nice to get Andrews involved a little bit more. So that's one thing that jumped out at me. I thought the packers actually looked pretty good. Obviously love going down.

Concerning Injuries Impacting Performance

That's, that's a bit concerning. I think he's out four to six weeks. I think something like that. So, yeah, that completely changes the packers offense and kind of who you can throw in your lineup. And I thought last night, the Sunday night game, I thought that was actually pretty good. It was exciting to see for first week, overtime. Yeah, it's too bad. Puka went down and then cup stepped up really well. I think he had like 14 receptions or something like that. which killed me in one league, but helped me a lot in another. So that's how fantasy goes.

Navigating Fantasy League Dynamics

You win, you win some, you lose some. but, overall, I mean, yeah, those are some of the. The things that I took away from week one. By the way, Colton. Colton was just expressing what Cooper cup did to him in our league, which is why we're here for the wolf Sports fantasy Football league. Right. Colton, are you. Did you have a nightmare from Cooper cup last night? It was like two guys, one cup. And Colton was just not feeling sorry, bud. Yes. So, yeah, Rev's right.

Reflections and Shared Experiences

This is the league that he hurt me really bad in, but that's just kind of how it goes. I was before the game thinking, okay, maybe if he, I don't know, has a pretty quiet game and Stafford doesn't play well, maybe there's an outside chance I somehow squeak out a win. But that was crushed really early on. Yeah, well, I'm glad that you at least thought going into the week that you had hope, but when you saw the ripper on the other side, you should have known trouble was brewing. It just hurts my soul that rips winning all these games. Long season.

Building Anticipation for Future Matches

I could. I could sit resolve tonight if it makes you feel better. The fact that you have the opportunity to sit your number one pick is just disturbing to say the least. We're going to go over to Presley. Presley and you guys, we can't forget what Rip is saying right now. So when you play rip and you win, we all want to hear about it. You know, I felt, I feel really good about the NFC East. I mean, I already felt good, but seeing the Giants were only held to six points, I thought the Vikings looked pretty good.

Thoughts on Pickup

So I just wanted to hear your guys's thought on that. That pickup. You know what? I love that pickup. I don't think it'll be as one sided as every week. I think it'll be more split with him and Mark Andrews, but I think. Yeah, no, I think it is. Overall, it's a good pickup. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, well, I enjoyed the games. I thought it was awesome. My Eagles one. It's just the start, guys. Football is back, baby. So, yeah, I enjoyed the games. And also down somebody else can come up here. Sounds awesome, by the way. I was trying to. Once Presley falls down, I'll bring you up. I think it was kind of glitched, but we'll go over to fantasy football forecast. Go ahead, man.

Injury Concerns in Fantasy Football

Yeah, Presley, that was a good pickup. And the fact that Najoku's heard he might be out a while. So definitely a good replacement. But I wanted to bring up one good aspect of tonight fantasy wise that we look at Christian McCaffrey being inactive. Right. And the old adage, do you handcuff? Do you not handcuff? This guy was the first player off the board. So if you're sitting there tonight trying to win your game and you're going to take a big fat zero from C Mac, unless you have the handcuff on your bench, maybe Jordan Mason. If you have a bad spot on your bench that you can flip, you don't want to take a zero. Even if you got to pick up like a Kyle used Jiznik, you know, anything to possibly not take a zero tonight. You don't want to throw away somebody bad on the bottom of your roster. But this is not the handcuffs we're talking about with Tyree kill. This is the handcuff you need to do with your top notch backs.

Rookie Quarterbacks Reflection

You look at Bijon with Tyler Algier, Brice hall and Breland Braylon Allen. If you have McCaffrey, Jordan Mason is the guy you need to do. Maybe trade for him. This is, this. A lesson learned. But if you don't, you're in a bad spot tonight. And who would have thought that your number one overall pick, you're leaning on him to win a game and you don't even have him. So let's. If you do have Jordan Mason, though, you'll be singing this song. All right, back to you. Love to hear you always bring the energy into here. What was your kind of biggest takeaway from the rookie quarterbacks, Wes. From the rookie quarterbacks. Well, the last person talking about Bo Nicks. Bo Nicks was run a lot. His average depth of target was actually pretty low.

Opening Week Analysis

Wasn't chucking it down the field a lot. If you look at Washington's rookie quarterback, he loves to run, obviously. We know that. But his passing, he missed Terry McLaurin on a long one. His passing is not looking the best either. I see out of all the rookies just, it just wasn't the best opening week. And, you know, a lot of them are on the road. A lot of them had jitters. A lot of them didn't get their preseason work. So with the short preseason, I don't think the rookie quarterbacks were quite ready. I mean, you look at the Bears getting the win, their quarterback to even throw for 100 yards. So how can you say he had a good game? You know, he kind of, what I say, pooed the bed. But maybe those rookie quarterbacks will rebound next week. But this week they were not very promising. Thank you. I know. Unfortunately, it's 79 yards, so it was kind of brutal.

Mark Andrews Concerns

What's up? Yeah, I just wanted to go back and talk. I think it was Colton who was talking about Mark Andrews, man. Look, don't panic. Look, Mark Andrews, I just found this out not too long ago, a little bit after the game, actually. He was in a car accident, so he's still dealing with that. He got back on the field, he's playing, and then you got an offensive line, like Baltimore offensive line. That showing that they had was very bad. I know that, you know, Kansas City has really good players. Kaloftis, they got Chris Jones, but their defensive line was just terrorizing Lamar Jackson all game and they needed to help blocking. So who you going to bring in? You going to bring in a guy? Like likely, although he had a really badass block. I mean, that block that he had, I think he pancaked.

Andrews' Performance and Future

The dude was nice, but, or you're gonna bring somebody in like Mark Andrews, who's like six five, like a big, big dude. So he was kind of helping in line blocking, things like that. There was one play that he was huffing and puffing and they showed him and I was like, why is he huffing and puffing? He ain't got no balls yet. And, but he was actually blocking his ass off. So he was blocking, you know, those big linemen and everything. So I feel like once he gets back under his feet, you know, the, I don't know what he injured in the car accident, but I do know that he did have some type of injury and, you know, he's working his way back on that. But I think that once they get him back in line, Isaiah likely his production, I think he's still going to be productive.

Reviving Team Dynamics

I do think it comes down a little bit and it becomes more of those. Okay, now who's going to be the blocking tight end? Who's going to be the receiving tight end, you know, likely will get split or slide in and get himself some in the open space. Same thing with Mark Andrews. So it's going to be one of those thinking game situations that the defense is going to have to go against. But I'm still, I'm not panicking yet on Mark Andrews, man. No, no. That dude's too productive. As long as he's on the field, he's going to produce and that's been his thing. He's been unhealthy. Yes, completely agree. Fun football. Go ahead. Fun football.

Navigating NFL Trends

Sorry, my mic was meeting. I was talking. I was like, that was fun. Anyways, I. We got, here's the thing, and this is not a fair situation and I kind of said it with the other points we've got to remember either rookie QB's and we're kind of in this NFL. That's. I think it's why we saw so many quarterback injuries last year is because these offensive lines just take time to gelatinous. Not all of them, but a lot of them do. So like, I'm going to reserve, like I'm going to wait a little bit on Caleb and see how long it takes them to get in sync with Romans A and if Keenan Allen stays healthy and because I think I'm a Packer fan, I think this. I think Caleb could be great, but it's going to take a few weeks.

Team Development and Draft Preparation

Like, I mean, my situation. Jordan Love last year looked like other than the Bear game week one. No, this is just serious. He looked like straight trash for about six, seven more weeks. Then he turned it on and that was a lot of quarterbacks last year. Baker may feel like a rookie year or career year and really turned on late against my Green Bay D. There's, it's just tough cause you've got a lot of teams that just take a lot of time to gel and they can. Like, it's not just offensive line, everybody in sync. There's just this new CBA has impacted the NFL so heavily. So I'm trying to like not overreact after one week because it took a few weeks to really get a lot of information last year. But I am curious.

Fantasy Football Performance

I don't know if you guys want to pivot to another question, but what was your guys best fantasy play last week or this week? I made a dumb decision and I forgot to save the move and I actually started T Higgins and I won by 0.3. All right. All right, cool. I appreciate you giving your takes, but then switching the conversation when people's hands are up ain't gonna work, Buddha. Not how we're doing right now. Just kidding. We will, we will go to that. Just give it a second. Let's get Tropic and King Apollo's thoughts and then we can go to that. Okay. Yeah.

Fan Reactions

Just real quick, when before we pivot to that, I just want to say you guys make me really nervous because I'm a jet fan and I've been hearing good things about the jets and that's never a good sign. So you guys, you have set me up for like some real disappointments. On bracing for the impact on that one. But as far as impact for fans, I don't see how anyone could be positive in Atlanta whatsoever. Like you brought in this coach over Bill Belichick. Granted, yes, his personality and everything, but they're talking about winning Super Bowls and losing coaches because they're stacked to win. And then that happens. Their line looked like it just got awful. I mean, yeah, TJ Watts, awesome.

Offensive Line Challenges

But I mean, it's not Lawrence Taylor or like the 86 bears or the 2000 whatever Ravens. I mean, that was like the worst showing I've ever seen for an offensive line. And I understand normally it takes a little time. Like, no one wants to talk offensive line. I know it's a boring topic, but what I saw in that game, like, it was just God awful that, I mean, if I was an Atlanta fan, I would. I would. Jesus. Like, that's rough. That's a rough watch. Appreciate that. Tropic. Let's go to King Apollo and then we're going to. We're going to turn to fun football's question. King Apollo.

Football Observations

Yo, what's up, everybody? I don't play any fantasy this year. I didn't do any leagues. I got a lot of shit going on, traveling and stuff, trying to keep up with everything but few takeaways from this past weekend. If most people know in here, I'm a Giants fan. So unfortunately, my weekend sucked ass. The Giants look terrible and offense, defense looked great. I was pretty excited about that. The rest of the NFC east is looking good. A separate commanders but that's always a known thing. Montgomery, I really like Montgomery for the Lions last night.

Game Highlights

I was watching that game. He really broke through it to in house and really key plays to get them that dub also freaking Tyree kill was looking really good. 80 our touchdown. I love the nobody talked about it yet but they arresting that getting arrested celebration. That was absolutely hilarious. I love the way he took that kind of a shitty situation and beginning the game and turned into a good thing. Love that he was able to use this platform like that. Derek also really looked really good yesterday. I don't feel like I hear anybody talk on him yesterday.

Impressions on Players

He was looking really well. All right. All right. There you go. A little love for Derek Carr, who was really good in the week one. Surprising to hear you say that as a Giants fan. Your defense showed up Sam Donald carving off the minutes the New York Giants in week one. Yeah, but he did look really well. I mean more the defensive line. The secondary was as you are correct. And my man king, I guess it's true. Look, the reality is this as a Giants fan, if the bar is very low right now, so you know, we got to take those dubs anywhere we can.

Team Dynamics and Upcoming Games

Daniel Jones threw a touchdown. Unfortunately, it was for the other team and good luck in week two. Anti Daniel Jones bro, I will say this. Yeah, I'm not very optimistic on anything but getting a first round draft pick and the next draft. Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much it for me. One more thing I want to say before I go. Me and my brother Apollo sports are hosting a watch party tonight for the Monday night football game. It's pinned up to the top. We do it on playback tv. It's a platform that allows us to stream NFL, NBA soccer, all types of games completely legally.

Watching Opportunities for Fans

And usually you just need whatever ESPN or whatever provider showing. But I also have vip passes so people who don't have it just hit me up when you come in. We'll hook you up with a vip pass and you can watch it even if you don't have the prime or ESPN or whatever it is. So we'll be hosting those on Mondays probably after D, so just want to throw that out there. If any fans want to come by and chop it up with some you also, we pull the people on stage. It's kind of like a Twitter space kind of set up to, you can pull people up and talk and give their take.

Inviting Fans to Engage

So if you want to come in, get some hot takes, watch the game with some football fans talk some shit. Mandy, feel free to come by. All right, there we go. You guys can watch. You guys don't miss, but let's. Let's keep the conversation on the football here. I mean, everyone could be in here promoting, and that's cool if you want to watch for King Apollo. That's next. Fun football. What was your question? And then let's try to talk about it. We got like 15 minutes left before we're out of here. I want to hear more football.

Reflections on Fantasy Decisions

Oh, sorry, man. I should have waited till the end to post the question. My bad. I just was like, I. My thing was I sat. I started Higgins by accident, but got lucky that Reed and Bob Barkley bailed me out. So I was just curious, what was your all's worst fantasy play of the weekend? All right, I'll start just to keep it moving. Worst fantasy play? I, you know, look, got a lot of good plays, but you got to be honest when you're wrong. And I thought Gervonta Williams was a player this season. It didn't look good in week one for Denver.

Seeking Consensus on Performances

Can I hope that week two looks a little bit better? But, yeah. Gervonta Williams struggled in week one mightily for the teams that I put them on. How about anybody else? Let's welcome. Sean's got his hand up and then we'll do fantasy. Sean, what do you got? Yeah, so I, first of all, appreciate you guys. Let me up. So football's back. Welcome to the NFL. We're back. Week one, fantasy football. If you had Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley on the same team, lucky you. You're free. Freaking amazing week.

Highlighting Player Performances

I know. If you looked outside of the lines and you've seen that three, you believe that three kickers were going to be. There's going to be three kickers in the top 15 of all scoring. As fantasy players goes. That. That's crazy. I didn't see that happening. You said you just backed up. Kickers need love, too, baby. Yeah. So, so kickers scoring, you know, 15 plus points in a week. We, I think we had Boswell scoring 26 fantasy points, which was absolutely insane. But Brandon Arbery, baby.

Managing Team Potential

Yeah, I was looking at. I was listening to what you guys were saying in your takes. I didn't. I have Najoku and I didn't realize that he went down with ankle, ankle injury. So I'm looking for some. Luckily, I got Dallas Goddard there, so hopefully, you know, he'll stand out. But I. A couple names you mentioned, quarterbacks. I. I had Joe Burrow and luckily for me, Saquon bailed me out. Saquon and Nico Collins had a massive week for me, so still got the win.

Rookie Standouts

Luckily with Burrow only putting up eight points. But some rookie names that stood out to me was Thursday night, Xavier Worthy. He might be a stud in Kansas City. I mean, if they run with that and then continue to work that out, he looks solid. Xavier Leggette as well. In New Orleans, another big name, I think. I think he looks good as well. But some name just.

Opinions on Caleb Williams

I mean, I know we mentioned, you guys mentioned the rookie quarterbacks. I said it before coming into this year. I know I'm probably going to get a lot of scrutiny for it, but Caleb Williams just. I am not a fan of Caleb Williams. I apologize. I mean, but a dude that's painting his fingernails. Sorry. I'm not, I'm not. Not for you, bro. But, but good luck to everybody. I just want to jump up here and say, it's week one, guys. I mean, we're going to see a lot of one thing. We're going to see Josh Allen scoring touchdowns every week. I can guarantee you that. All right, so. So Sean is on the Josh Allen scoring touchdowns all week. I like that he's anti fingernail painting. I'm not sure how that affects the throwing of the ball, but we'll just go with it. Let's go to tip and then fantasy. I want to hear your takes.

D.K. Metcalf and Team Performances

Tip. Yeah. So to answer fun football question, it was DK Metcalf for me. I thought it was going to be a really big week, although I don't remember if it was you, Ripper, or not, but I think on our space, somebody mentioned Patrick, certain that somebody was me. Okay. All right. I knew it sounded like your voice that because I was trying to tune it out like I always do, but then I'm just playing. But I was like, man, it. That offense just looked inept from a passing standpoint, from a running standpoint, it looked buckle up because Kenneth Walker looks like he, as long as he can stay healthy, he looks like he's going to be the guy. And then, you know, Zack Charbonnet looks like a plotter out there. But as far as the Xavier worthy of. Yeah, look, we got to understand this. The kid can take the top off at any time.

Evaluate Fantasy Football Strategies

We also have to understand that Hollywood Brown is supposed to be coming back really soon. Once he comes back, he only touched the ball. He only had four opportunities. Xavier worthy like that's a situation where, yes, those opportunities, that first play where he took it to the house on that end around that was like, okay, wow, that, that catch, that was a broken play. Like, we got to also understand that Patrick Mahomes is smart enough to recognize these things andy Reid is going to coach up these types of plays. So that way you get open looks like that. And then you got Travis, Kelsey and Rishi Rice. So. But just be a little careful because again, in fantasy football for me, I can't speak like this for everybody, but for me, a lot of it is about opportunity and you know, sometimes you're going to have boom weeks and you're going to have bus weeks with a player that's going to fluctuate as far as opportunities go. It's a great take tip. Really enjoyed it. Let's go do fantasy football.

Dolphins and Fantasy Performance

Then we're going to fun and hopefully you keep tuning in to hear what I say. My man. Mister majors, what's up, fantasy football? What you got? Yeah. Follow up on tips real quick with DK Metcalf. That that cornerback matchup is going to be mean all year for Denver. Whoever plays the opposite side. If you look at Tyler, pop, lock and drop it, he did have seven targets, caught six catches for 70 yards. He was playing what I like to call a poo defender. So look at the opposite side. Every game against Denver, the one that surprised me this week, maybe you as well. Rippie is the guy that scored 21 touchdowns last year and then just decided to not really show up this week for your Miami dolphins. And my Miami Dolphins, I'm a fan, too. Six rushes for nine yards. That's putrid. And he only got targeted in the passing game three times, two for ten. Who am I talking about?

Injuries and Player Evaluations

Raheem, the dream most art. We were getting him in the 9th, 10th, 11th round, thinking it's a little bit of value after week one. I am benching him. I am waiting. I definitely don't want to play him on a short week Thursday night being a little nicked up. So put him on your bench. See what we got. A chain. Looks like the real deal. Most are no. 21 touchdowns this year. Back to you, my friend. Whoo. It's hot. It's coming in, firing right there. I can't disagree. It was a tough week. One for most fun football. What you got? I really like, I like tips. Take about worthy. He's not going to take it to the house every time, but he could be a really good, interesting Boomer bus candidate. My play, other than the Higgins one that sucked was Marvin Harrison. Shocked me.

Analyzing Player Production

I thought that even, like with Buffalo secondary revamped, I thought he would better than he was. So that was a shocker. But, man, that one was. That was really surprising. And outside of that was the burl play. He had a terrible week. I knew I forgot Higgins was out, but, man, that was a rough one. I still expected better than that from the, against the Patriots, but hopefully the Cincinnati offense gels a little bit moving forward. Thanks for letting me do the question, too, man. Yeah, no, I appreciate the question. It was. It was. It's a good one. Now, here's the thing, guys. You know, Cincinnati, I don't know if t Higgins is even hurt or if he's just kind of protesting in his own manner by doing this. So that's something to consider and pay attention to. It doesn't get easier for Cincinnati.

Upcoming Challenges for Teams

If they thought they could handle the Patriots, which they could, they get to have a week two matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, good luck to the Bengals and their fans for week two. Let's get some of the other hands that are up now. I want to hear from my man fat doinks is in house and then Colton fat doing. What's up, bud? Rip, what's going on, my guy? What's up, everybody? Man, I know I'm excited as everyone here that football is back. Week one was. I know it was underwhelming, maybe in some facets, but it was just great to have some football back. I want to fire back real quick. At the mostert talk. A chain left the game banged up already. Missed practice today already. So did moster.

Player Performance and Future Outlook

I see Jeff Wilson, maybe even Jalen Wright. Getting involved in the other Miami offense is firepower. Any running back involved there I want. Secondly, I think we all knew how bad Daniel Jones was, but man, he nuked neighbors and I think neighbors ADP might come back to bite some people in the behind later. My guy this week was Drake London. And I look like a fool. I bet I'm not the only one. But Drake London didn't show up. I think that was a huge surprise. Something to watch for me that was interesting. It wasn't really in the box for, but Keon Coleman was really involved out there with Josh Allen running a lot of routes. I think Josh was looking for him on a lot of reads, too.

Reflections on Week One Experiences

I was really tuned into that game. I think that's going to be something to watch as the season goes for sure. And then my last guy I want to answer fun football. My drop of the week was a panic Thursday move. So I'm a Mark Andrews investor and after Thursday, I wanted to jump off the roof. When I went ahead and did is I dropped JK Dobbins on Friday morning and picked Pat Friarmuf up as a backup tight end. Rest assured, I will be regretting that for a couple of week. So back at you, rip. Oh, my God. My guy. Fat joints is my guy. I think I. I think I just threw up in my mouth when you said those words. Wow. I feel. I think we all feel pain right now.

Advice and Observations on Tight Ends

Let's have a moment of silence, everybody. Rip, you. You know I know my stuff. Rip. It was just tight end panic on a Thursday. I'm in a tight end premium league. Next available guy was Okonkwo. I'm like, and he scores a touchdown. So he did. Hey, 100%. It's fantasy. That's what's fun. We get to all chop it up here, but, you know, everyone's going to go through these moments and can. Can relate one thing about tight end just quickly, because if you guys didn't know I had the box score breakdown, it's a. It's a what I'm putting out every Monday morning.

Post-Game Analysis and Contextual Observations

And just a note on tight ends. There was only one touchdown from tight ends that were ADP top 17 coming into the season, and that was Kyle Pitts at tight end seven. The other four touchdowns scored by tight ends in week one were all guys that were not even remotely on your radar. Obviously, that's Isaiah likely who dominated the position, but after that, it was Chica Congo, it was Juwan Johnson and then foster Moreau. So tight end was a tough sled in week one. It doesn't mean it's going to be like that the rest of the season. Just something to note that it wasn't bad just for you. It was probably bad for almost everybody at tight end in week one.

Final Thoughts and Upcoming Games

All right, let's go to Colton. Colton, what's up, bud? Yeah. So we already talked about my. My disappointment with Andrews. I think the other player that I was pretty disappointed with was, from a fantasy perspective, was olave, especially considering the points that New Orleans put up. Part of it might have been. I mean, Rashid Shahid, Moreau and Johnson scored early, so they didn't really need to throw it as much in the second half, but, yeah. You mean investing that much draft capital obviously hurts week one. I'm not as concerned going forward. I still think he's obviously going to be a dominant receiver. But the other thing I'll say, too, I think Rashid Jahid will be a big part of the offense, too.

Reflecting on Fantasy Football Experience

So. Yeah, week one, that left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Yeah, it makes complete sense. Look, I think we all, at certain levels have all experienced, you know, tough matchups that, you know, you're the guy that you have, you know, look, if you have a McCaffrey, if you have McCaffrey right now, you're feeling what it's like to be on the bad side of unfortunate circumstance or it going against you. But this is fantasy football that's come to, you know, that's going to be expected. Fantasy football forecast, which got. I just had a question. If we look at it from a betting perspective, all week long this line has been four points with Christian McCaffrey ieinhen possibly the best running back in football playing.

On the Betting Perspective

Now it's three and a half. You're telling me the greatest running back in football is worth a half a point? To me, the jets screaming value. If you didn't like them before, you got to take them now. I know this is a finished football spot, but I think it's crazy to me. I think that's a great point. Looking, I've been on the jets for a week here. I think this game is all set up for New York. It's going to be a great game. I think from the standpoint of we finally get to see Aaron Rodgers after a year of recovery. Tip talked about Cousins recovery from the Achilles. Aaron Rodgers has the longer period that he's been able to recover.

Expectations for the Jets

He's a better quarterback than Kirk Cousins. He should be fully healthy. As a huge Miami Dolphins fan, it hates me to say it, but I think this is going to be a banner year for the jets, which they always seem to jet, which means something will happen. But honestly, from a skill position between Brie saw, Garrett Wilson, Aaron Rodgers defensively, sauce Gardner, it's looking good for the New York jets. And I think that starts tonight against the San Francisco team that had all of the turmoil in the offseason and now it continues with their star running back missing week one. Anybody else have some final thoughts here?

Recapping the Episode and Future Games

We've got a couple more minutes. Definitely want to hear any more final thoughts around the fantasy week or week one. The recap that was we have tonight's Monday night football game and then we move to week two. Fun football. What you got? I want to know who y'all's targets going to be I'm in an eliminator league and I'm going to. I got Jordan love out and will love us is my backup. So I'm going to be hitting quarterback. It's a league where people get dropped. I was. I don't know if we have time for another question, but I was curious. Anybody's got some awesome pickups.

Strategies for Fantasy Pickups

I'm going to be hitting the quarterback and unfortunately I've got some tight end injuries. I'm in five leagues. So I was just curious. Here's the thing. It's going to be hard anytime someone asks a question around who to do. It's so hard because you don't know the least. Yeah, that's fair. But I mean, it's fair to ask questions. I would just say this. This is the one tip I'd give in here as far as week one waivers. When you're going out there, you either rostered pooka naku and now you're like, oh, I'm in big trouble. Maybe you're out there looking for a wide receiver.

Assessing Player Options

I said this in the offseason. All you had to do is pay attention. If you were riding with me, you knew that you wanted to get Cooper cup, not Pooka. But whatever. Point is, if one of them was going to get hurt, the player to roster was DeMarcus Robinson. So go look for DeMarcus Robinson on your waiver wire this week. Grab him. He's going to be the wide receiver to in LA. He's going to. He's going to eat a lot. Unfortunately for everyone in the Wolf Sports league, DeMarcus Robinson's on my bench if you want to trade for him. I got him to trade you. Don't worry. Cooper's doing his thing as a starter.

Networking and Collaboration in Fantasy

But I got DeMarcus for everyone in here. But, but if you're not in our league, then you got your league. Go look for DeMarcus Robinson on your waiver wire. That's what I got for week one. King Apollo. Finish this off. Man, I just wanted to just speak on the game tonight, man. I definitely feel like Aaron Rodgers and the jets are going to pull this one through for like a lot of people are sleeping on the number one defense out there. Sauce Gardner is a beast, like you say. Had a lot of arrests coming off coming in. So I'm really excited to see this game.

Closing Remarks and Encouragement

See, I'll come out there. I wanted to see him play last year for the jets. Even though I'm a Giants fan, it's kind of like our in house rival. I like Aaron Rodgers and wanted to see what he was going to do with the program. So just, I see that tonight and just shout out to everybody that was here today, man. Make sure everybody follows each other. There's beautiful faces in here, a lot of great minds, a lot of great voices in here speaking their truths and speaking their hot takes, man. I love to hear it all time, man. Shout out, will sports and tenement as well, man. Yeah, man. Much love, dudes. All right. Thanks for being here, King Apollo.

Concluding the Session

And thanks to everyone for being here either. As a speaker, a listener. As King Apollo said, you could follow everyone. You can find everyone here on many different locations, different spaces, different times. If you are following wolf Sports, which you have to be, make sure you're ready for Friday parlays and then Saturday UFC. That's not where my forte is, but I try top, I try to tap in when I can, but it's obviously really informative. Can help you win your bets or diving into MMA. If you're trying to win fantasy football, you can't take advice from Samuel, but we already know that.

Looking Forward and Next Steps

We'll like to see what he loses by next week. We'll start to, maybe we'll run a poll. How many points will Sam lose in week two? But for week one, this was the wolf Sports NFL recap show, and I appreciate everyone for being here. We'll see you guys next week. Enjoy the game tonight. We're out.
