Behind the Mic

One, like why so many options expiring at one time? And where they hosted or who was hosting these options bets? Well, who is a. Is a weird question because it's like a lot of different, it's a lot of different places and a lot of different places that you probably wouldn't use. So, like think about who allows options trading in crypto, right? Well, it used to be FTX. Obviously they're not around anymore, but now it's exchanges you've probably never even used, Lucas. It's like Kucoin or obviously binance does as well. It's a lot of places that aren't in the US. In fact, can somebody tell me, is there a place inside the US where I'm allowed to buy options, calls and futures and stuff on crypto? Is there a Us? Does anyone know of one? A US exchange? I'm trying, I'm racking my brain and trying to figure it out. I have to look that up. Yeah, I mean, look that up, but. Interesting. So, and so why do they expire now then? Why, why, who, who? Who? So the why is because it's written that way, right? You buy an option and has a certain expiration date. Just, that's just the nature of like, how that type of contract works. So. But why, I mean, if such a large magnitude of them is happening at once, was this based on like, you know, a week after an FOMC report, or was it just because there was there an influx in options that were at like 90 days whenever the ETF was announced? Yeah, that's exactly it. There was an influx of options, and like Grant said, they write the contract to be a certain expiration date, and so there was a massive influx around the time of the bitcoin ETF. But also options are set to expire on certain cadences, certain time intervals, and today just happens to be one of those time intervals. And it also, because of the bitcoin ETF and the rumored Ethereum ETF, the options today just happen to be absolutely fucking staggering. One point, like, say, 1.1 billion in bitcoin options, 800 million in Ethereum options, and I looked it up. Darabit seems to be the one place in the US that does allow us to buy Bitcoin and crypto options. Yeah, there are some futures brokers that allow options on futures, but I when I did it last, it was really damn expensive on top of the margin that you had to put up. But. Dang, crazy. So what? So tell me what is the driver here is we've got all these options expirations. We've had, VC sorry, IV come down over the last week and a half, right now spot price. I mean, what's your gut tell you spot price goes through next week? Oh, dang. Next week, between now and next week? Yeah. Oh, I mean. Gut. If ETH can hold 1800 over the weekend. I actually think we're headed to 1850. 1900 By the end of next week. That's positive grant. Tell me, why can't the other side of the trade just fucking nuke? The this is dangerous to do this stuff, but I'm going to say it anyways. Yes. Like I'm actually in semi agreement with aliph. And and let me tell you guys why so. So we had markets all consolidating. I mean obviously Bitcoin. And etc. Dumped this week, but like not they've dumped into the previous higher low zone like everything, you know, still looks really fine. Like, in fact I'm quite happy because I was expecting this to happen 2 1/2 weeks ago and I've been just waiting for the right time to buy back 60% of the spot that I sold before I left. And so now I'm looking at this and I'm like, wow, the market's going to give me one more entry point before I think I have to chase and just fomo into late and illiquid action. And you got in at post FOMC, right? Yes, exactly. So. So yesterday today's Friday. Yeah, it was yesterday. Yesterday I was alluding to this in the chat, but I basically unstaged 45% of my bitcoin and I managed to get it all restaged before today's uh you know, uh unstmoving. So I am now effectively flat with several million dollars worth of this pinned monetary energy that I'm gonna direct towards you know the region. But basically in that sense like. And then you hear fucking Barry Sterngarten come out and say like, hey, you know the short end of the bond curve has broken and it's completely like even if inflation is a thing still like I think the cloud is going to persist for at least the rest of this year and I don't want to even think about next year yet But look at like again 859 197 to nine X . Speaking with ETH holding since March like we're mid month through 32 day ap invitations reversible macro till November end Yes Larry. I mean I mean the so all of what you just said right there in a nutshell. Like this this whole conversation summarizes down to one thing and it's I can't remember the name of like these random fucking option princes that must run pseudonymously on Twitter. But what did they launch even in August? Like oh I'm going to steal your line. Grant I think the bulls are gonna like tell us how stuffed we are next week with vibes. But actually no I can't make that assumption because we've been We have been rejected at 43 maybe seven times. I?m still little cautious. Though long term. Yeah long term, obviously me too. Like, so I'm not trading anything here before i see a definitive sign of momentum building or I'm buying a breakdown. That lets me into another dip. VECTOR vector time yet. But right now immediate term, my short game medium timeline players. Spec good component. Yeah as always and just always remember low vigilance or high assurances, deals perks retrieve advantages. Like Generally speaking, if you're right about macrostructure still being in place, and I think the Fed is gonna signal December, you'll be positioned for it. Especially if that does get green light. If we let this inflexion point check the intraday Sress rebalancing updating. Uh, 25 KS 2200 worries In my opinion. Like Put, see, even SEC feed inflowing exchange towards targeting. retain course align optics sense thermal? rightarrow pre Yes. No, exactly agree with that. I'm leaning towards there actually being a more of Upwards momentum than downwards. Adjust ABCs hoping another 670 range dip or retraces considered. Move III points signals within your by category. Yeah. Yeah no. So, just, actually, again also advise like staying away from excessive leveraging right spot. Prime Seems wiser because lower risk assessments. I've got things I got to get today, especially after my day of communication darkness yesterday. I did actually accomplish a thousand piece puzzle from 01:00 to 07:00 p.m. which is what I do whenever I don't have the Internet, so. But, alif, any. Grant, any closing statements before I play us out, I have something extra special selected today. I'm going to let ck take this one. And if that's okay, Grant, I'm just. Going to brag on Abby for a minute. I've made four soul in the last fucking hour and 15 minutes on an amazing call. And that bump is the runner of the day. Watch. It just dips. But again. I don't even know what to recap, but had a great time. Glad to. Glad to be back. Glad that I was not kicked from the hosting because I was 15 minutes late and that you guys had not restarted this somewhere under some other name and kept me off the stage. That would have been. That would have been harsh. But everyone, have a great weekend. We'll be. Be back next Monday, 11:00 a.m. eastern. We will be digging into all sorts of fun topics and keep an eye.
