Crypto definitely continues to be affected more than other markets, I would say, by war, which has really surprised me. I think people are just scared of, like, liquidation wicks a lot in crypto, which are quite common, and like, cascading liquidations. So you tend to get like, we really underperform when a tail event, the chances of a tail event increase. That being said, overnight, there wasn't really much of a response so far.

There may be one today. We'll wait and see. That could continue to flare up. It does feel like oil was the main macro move on the back of that, because there is some threat to the iranian oil field. So oil went above 70, but above 70, it's been down only for a long time. It's really just bouncing back from getting destroyed all year. You saw gold rally bitcoin go lower, which I thought was pretty interesting. Again, you've seen that divergence between the two of them.

It went up to 57.5, which kind of makes sense. In the dump, you've seen Sui.

That one and Tao have been the best performers over the last couple of months, at least in the standard old coins away from meme coins. But I think they have a bridge that went live on Mainnet.
Bridging to Sui
So you're able to bridge to Sui now from ETH and potentially even Solana as well. So you might see TVL increase pretty markedly from here. So maybe it makes sense to bridge some money over to Sui if you have some, just to play around. It does feel like if the chains at 20 billion, you're going to see a few more potentially ten x plays from ecosystem coins, that sort of stuff. You saw hash decks, which is one of the ETF providers, launch an XRP, or look like they are going to launch an XRP ETF. So people are now getting bullish on the back of that. Although it was a pretty bearish day for the other ETF's.

I think the bitcoin ETF had probably the largest outflows, had, of course, in about a month, ETH actually had a very big outflow as well, particularly at the Fidelity ETF. And I think we saw around 500, just over 500 million, 20 million of liquidations yesterday. So a decent move down. I think that 60k level. Hold on, held on bitcoin, which is what a lot of people are looking at. That was like the previous. Sorry, a lot of lines. Yeah. So that 60K level, I think 58k is the other. I just put these because this is where I want to remind myself to bid. I'm still waiting. Mando, not jumping on. I think yesterday was a prime example of, like, if you were looking to get long, yesterday was a real day to get. To get long. Like, you can only people forget that, like, the reason why the price is lower is because something bad is happening.

Yes. And yesterday feels like a prime example of something, that something bad was happening. It feels terrible, but you get opportunities along it and you can. The question is it going higher on Solana going higher on Eth? Going lower. You know what I mean? Like, EtH didn't have a great day. Solana didn't have a great day yesterday either. How strong, though, he's been hanging out flat. How strong is kind of where it's been against bitcoin for a while via ETh.

For me personally, man, I don't know what you're expecting here, but I'm just waiting to see if we get slightly under 60k. My only concern, and I said yesterday, I don't think I'll talk about on the show, is like, what happens if, when Israel decides to retaliate to Iran's attacks yesterday, because they clearly, despite them, not, you know, seems like they didn't really, you know, kill many people, but despite that, it still hit the ground. So it's like you'd expect Israel. Plus Netanyahu, who literally said himself that he's going to retaliate. So we'll see.

I just don't know if he's going to retaliate today and tomorrow because today's Rosh Hashanah. So today's the jewish new year. So actually happy, you know, new year to those celebrating today. But. So I don't know. I don't know if what happens there. I'm just worried about that. You know what I mean? Like, all it takes is one Walter Bloomberg headline saying Israel sending missiles towards Iran, and then boom, we're at 59k. You know what I mean? Yeah. So it has multiple options here. It can attack the oil fields, which is Iran's current, basically form of income.

Iran's been crippled to a large extent or very badly hurt by sanctions, but oil remains to be one of their main income sources. And obviously with the BRICS countries, they've been able to sell quite a lot of it. So they could attack that. And Iran obviously has huge oil fields, one of the biggest oil producing countries in the world. If they were to go really aggressive, they could attack the iranian nuclear facility, which they have danced around attacking before. They kind of attacked it through a computer virus few years back, but they could go after that. That would be a real escalation.
Uncertainty and Global Responses
That being said, I did read yesterday that I'm not sure if it was 100% confirmed that the iranian missiles were going after the israeli nuclear facility, which is in the Najev desert. So maybe they feel like that's tip for tat, who knows? Or they could go after air bases, which is what the Iranians seemingly went after. They went after mainly air bases. Obviously, there was like fragments of other missiles that hit other things. It doesn't seem like necessarily everything hit is intended target, but the main air base that they went after, which is also was evacuated beforehand.

And as far as I'm aware, all the planes were in the sky because they were already warned about it. So, I mean, I just don't know. A lot of war seems to be posturing. Right? Right. So I honestly don't know. Like, obviously this is a wider conflict. So, like, Iran backs Hezbollah. So when Israel, it's so clearly obvious now. Like, you know, they're, when Israel attacks Iran attacks Israel because they're, it's all very linked. So maybe they think that the real objective here is just to clear out Hezbollah, who's a much closer enemy.

Right. And then maybe that, maybe it ends. So. Or, you know, I was thinking maybe they push, maybe they try and push through some form of diplomacy here, like Saudi Arabia. Maybe they try and do a deal and be like, look, you know, recognize us. It doesn't feel like the Saudis in Iran are going to be friends anytime soon. I don't think so. But at this point with Biden, where he is, like, this is why I put that tweet out yesterday.

It's like if there was the right person in place, I really do think a deal could be done. There's nobody home in America. With where we're at. And I feel like that's a real issue. And I'm not saying necessarily Kamala won't be able to help that. But right now you need somebody that can really navigate through this diplomacy, and it doesn't feel like we have that. Yeah, I think it's tough because I feel like if Israel doesn't respond, it just means the conflict is going to keep moving, which I think is this means that we're going to continue having this overhang and the escalation will come the future, the part of me thinks they will respond and perhaps that will lead us getting past the conflict sooner. I don't know. It is tricky. I don't know that we're out of the woods yet. It was a little frustrating yesterday.

One of the pitches for bitcoin is digital gold. Then when you see it diverge from gold performance, and granted, on a short term timeframe, but that doesn't really help enforce thesis. Bob Lucas made a good point here. He said not to discount rocket attacks, but the S and P was way overdue. Its daily normal cycle, the normal daily cycle decline. So the path was already there. I tend to see him as a high signal trader public. I think you do too, right, Tyler?

Yeah you're right. Like ETF's aren't a guarantee. Absolutely. Anymore I agree with you. There was one thing though. There was a tweet that I liked from Nate Jurassic here. I like this tweet a lot. He said bit wise positioning to file extra PTF is highly noteworthy. Mio in short term this is likely call option November election. So we've talked about this on the show, right. About different ETF's depending on who wins then. But bit wise is highly credible crypto native fund firm that doesn't just throw stuff at a wall, that's simply not in their DNA. This is strategic. So broader crypto. I guess it's good, right? Yeah. And they must think there's some, there's a demand for it. Right.
