Introduction and Preview

All right, welcome in, everybody. We're going to do another college football spaces here Saturday. College football preview here late Friday night. Hope everybody's had a good week. Looking forward to this show. Got some great guests in here. Looking forward to talking with Brad Powers. Kiev from the odds breakers is going to be hosting this thing most of the way through. I'm a little bit under the weather so Kiev's going to do a little bit more of the talk and I'll just be the guest here tonight. But looking forward to it and I hope everybody can get a lot out of this show here today. Let's get Kiev added up here and yeah, we had some, a good game there tonight. UnLV Kansas, Arizona didn't hold in there to make that a decent game, but I got one good game out tonight. Hopefully we can get some good action there tomorrow.

Transition to Guests

All right, Kiev from the odds breakers, how are you, man? You want to take over here? Yeah, sure, man. I do. You hear me first of all? Yeah, good. Okay, good. I hope you're feeling better, man. I had that cold or whatever it was on Saturday night last week and then Sunday I was supposed to watch some NFL with some buds and that didn't work out probably till about Monday, but I'm all right. I'm here. Yeah, Kyle, you're a trooper. Thanks for coming on. Definitely. Thank you guys for coming on. Listening of course, we love talking college football, as you know. And we have some awesome guests for you this week as usual. And Brad powers from Brad Power sports. One of our favorites is on. Obviously Brad needs no introduction. Very knowledgeable man. And I loves his fighting Irish. And Ron from Ronnie Sports from the inside blitz is on too.

Engagement and Game Requests

And Ron's going to be a speaker, hopefully educating us as well about some of these wonderful games. So I'm going to let a couple more minutes, people filter in here and then we'll get started with the first game. And by the way, please message us if you want to request a, a game or any subject really in college football to talk about because you know, we always love to hear what you have to say and maybe we could learn from you as well, listeners. We always do. And if you want us to break down a game too, we can quickly go to it. But we picked five games, you know, that. Pretty relevant this week. Obviously my badgers are playing Alabama and that's going to be interesting to talk about.

Game Breakdown Introduction

We'll talk a little Notre Dame and Notre Dame is going to be playing Purdue. We got Washington State and the Apple cup play in Washington and two other games here. I got to pull them up. Kyle tweeted them at me, and I believe the other two are West Virginia. Pit in Memphis, Florida State. Because we just cannot stop talking about Florida State. So, so let's. Let's get started then. You know, I think it's been enough time, and we'll talk about the first one. Let's talk Memphis, Florida State. Kyle, this is one that you selected. Maybe you might have some thoughts. First to give us on the wonderful Seminoles.

Memphis vs. Florida State Analysis

Yeah, let's get started here with Memphis, Florida state. I have to say, you know, it's hard to make too much of what Memphis has done so far this year because the competition has been weak. We know how Florida State has been. You know, has their competition been great? I think that's kind of up for question. Boston College. We'll see. Georgia Tech's good, not great. Florida state's been horrible in so many aspects this year. Tackling great bottom 15 in the country, 114th and offensive line yards, 124th and defensive havoc from the front seven. Really surprised they've been so bad in the trenches. No explosiveness on offense for Florida State. I have to say they have one offensive play of 30 yards or more so far this year that's tied with Temple. You don't want to be tied with Temple in any offensive categories.

Skepticism on Florida State's Performance

Well, you don't want to be tied with them in anything, really. But DJU is who he has been really at. The perfect fit at Oregon State. Not the perfect fit here. Memphis great quarterback in Hennigan. A lot of depth and talented, skilled positions. I think the question mark there is their defensive line. Can they stop the run? This game has to mean a lot to Memphis. Huge name opponent. Still great opportunity for the Tigers. Where's FSU's head at right now? I thought it was really interesting when this line went to seven and even seven and a half. Now it's pretty much six and a half across the board at seven. I definitely lean Memphis here in this one, and that would still be my lean.

DJU and Florida State's Concerns

I kind of think Memphis might be worth a shot here to moneyline stab. Just some pizza money, because I could see this game going a lot of different ways. No, absolutely. DJU was who we thought he was. So that's what you're trying to say. Little Danny Green action. Brad, love that you're on the show tonight. Thank you so much for taking the time. We know how busy you are, my man. Why don't you tell us a little bit about your thoughts on this kind of a small spread from what we have looked ahead to on this Memphis and Florida state line? Yeah, in the summer this one was available at a couple sports books and it was above two touchdowns.

Brad's Perspective on the Line

So obviously a clear adjustment down on the noles after two games. I mean, they were the only the 13 since 1990 to lose outright as a double digit favorite in their first two games. So obviously not the DJU is who we thought he was, but the Florida state at line of scrimmage. O line, D line, certainly not what we expected. The O line was supposed to be the best they've had in several years there. And the defensive line, I don't think it was as good as the best in the country. Like they were hyping it up just prior to the Georgia Tech game, but it was supposed to be a very good defensive front, at least the starter. So, boy, this one's tough because, I mean, off a buy, you would think they have a reset and they, you know, they'd have to circle the wagons a little bit here, you would think, to try to save face a little bit on their season.

Memphis Challenges and Florida State's Dilemma

Memphis, I don't know yet. They haven't played anybody. FCS opponent and Detroit team that might be taking the biggest step back of any team in the country. So I didn't get involved side or total. I didn't find the right numbers. I know the look ahead line on this one just, you know, a little over a week ago was under three, so that was, I think people really took advantage of that. But it's one. I'm going to learn a lot about Memphis. I'm going to see how much heart that Florida State has because I haven't seen anything that's making me want to run to the window to bet Florida State when you can't do the little things right. And there was nothing fluky about the two losses that they had.

Concerns on Florida State's Future

I mean, in fact, I would say it was fluky that the games were as close as they were. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. It just kind of comes to the whole thing. It's like, how much can you downgrade this team? How do we know? You know, I mean, when you see what George detected then he was a Syracuse and, you know, Memphis actually looks pretty good. You know, I mean, they kind of look what I expected to look, you know, they took care of Troy pretty well. Ron, what about you, man? What are your thoughts on this low spread of six and a half compared to the early look ahead before the season started? Okay. Absolutely.

Discussion on Game Dynamics

Loud and clear. Okay, good. This is interesting in a couple of different ways. For me. It's the coach of Florida State used to coach at Memphis, Mike Norvell. So he's. I'm sure he has other things on his mind now that he's owing to, but before that it was going to be an interesting matchup going against his former team. Not shocked about the run defense because Georgia Tech is a prolific running team and Boston College is really shown out under Bill O'Brien, but massively shocked that they can't themselves run the ball. My corrected numbers, after you take out sacks and everything, Florida State's just not running the ball at all.

Analysis of Florida State's Performance

And so while I'm struggling to get the right power rating for Florida State, I've downgraded them, of course, several points, five points since opener. Probably should do a little bit more. I still think with the twelve days off now that maybe we have a slight overreaction here. I'm not interested in. I need to see more out of Florida State. I don't know why they're not running the ball to the level that I would have expected them to run the ball. So this is kind of the same way as a couple of others have said. I want to learn more from Florida State before I act on this game.

Revisiting the Potential of Florida State

Yeah, man, I mean, I downgraded Florida State six points, you know, and I don't know if I'm right. I don't know if it's enough, you know, and that's the thing. It's like I have Florida State minus seven and a half in this game and I'm not running to the window to bet because I just don't know. And you know, Memphis wants to win this game, but geez, it was a great point. Mike Norvell coached Memphis for set number of years and did really well with them. That was a big overs team when he was coaching that and you know, he's got to get these kids up to try to beat this lower group of five team.

Expectations and State of Play

Otherwise he's going to be looking pretty bad, you know. And so I would expect. The kids know that. I would expect that, you know, if we can just kind of get the cojones, this would just erase our thoughts. Maybe this is just a great spot to be Florida State. I can't get there. But man, you know, if you kind of put some of the situational stuff together, you would. You would think that this could be a time to bet them. But, you know, I am worried about DJU. I am worried about what Brad said about the trenches. I think that's all a bunch of great points, but, you know, I can't quite get that far with them.

Pittsburgh vs. West Virginia Outlook

So we'll lean Florida State for my side. Let's move on to a game Kyle picked to Pittsburgh against West Virginia. You know, this is interesting game. Pittsburgh kind of had that last second comeback last week. West Virginia really faltered against Penn State. That's such a weird game, too. Penn State was, you know, they're controlling the trenches pretty well against West Virginia, but that rain delay, was that like a three or four hour delay? You know, I remember wondering how tight these guys were going to come out and play this game.

Ron on the Pittsburgh vs. West Virginia Game

But, Ron, why don't we just go right back to you and tell us your thoughts on this game, if you have any. Yeah, so I'm struggling to find my notes here. So, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, I have the line pretty much where it should be. Usually the first thing I look at for both of these teams. They've had pretty good success over the years with revenge in this particular game, and that originally I thought I might like West Virginia, but Pittsburgh's the one with revenge. They are the home dog in this situation. But there's something about Pittsburgh style of play defensively that bothers me.

Defensive Strategy Concerns

A lot of teams are able to go up over the top on them. Pittsburgh is, in my opinion, a high risk, high reward kind of defense where they want to get it in your face, they want to create havoc. They, they've had success past several years with a lot of sacks, but they also give up a lot of big plays and a big passing yards. So I'm kind of staying off on this game because I've teetered on both sides. I kind of can see both ways going. And Pittsburgh, off the one point win, are we rewarding them too much for that game? It was probably one they could have lost.

Reactions and Team Performance

When they definitely could have lost. Absolutely. I agree. You know, and West Virginia is in a spot where they need to show something and like you said, revenge spot. Kyle, let's go right to you because you picked this game and I thought I might have saw something in your newsletter about this game as well. Yeah, I'm going to bet the over here. I did bet the over here in this one. Over 61 and a half is the best that I see out there now. Pitt, they beat up Kent pretty badly, but Kent, I mean, they lost to St.

Thoughts on Gameplay and Trends

Francis. Not a good look there. Pitt put up 7.3 yards per play on Sensei last week. I don't know why Sensei stopped running the ball with Kiner because it was working so well, you know, kind of confusing. He ran for 7.5 yards per carry. Bad look for Cincinnati to blow that one. I think West Virginia runs for a lot of yards here in this game. I think West Virginia's offensive line is underrated. They have a good tailback tandem and above average tempo for them at 48.

Pace of Play and Predictions

Pitt was definitely not kidding when they said they wanted to play fast in the offseason. Third in the nation and tempo so far this year, throwing on 56% of their plays. Holstein's been good. He has eight turnover-worthy plays, though, so, you know, he could throw a good deep ball. He could also throw a pick six. I think there's plenty of ways points could happen here. And to Ron's point, you know, this is a defense. These are two defenses who give up a lot of big plays.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts

Explosiveness allowed. They're 131st and 123rd in the country. So I think we should expect a lot of big plays here. Big plays. Pace. I'm going to take the over in this one. You know, that makes total sense. You and I talked before the season and talked about Kate Bella coming from Western Carolina, how we averaged over 37 points per game. And, you know, he's. He's paced it up and he quite. You always wonder if Narduzzi is going to allow it, but I think he might have to with a team like West Virginia because there's going to be all offense, like you mentioned, exposed to plays.

Embarrassing Performance Against Western Michigan

Kind of embarrassing performance against western Michigan. They could have lost that game. It wasn't for that punt fumble. And then Ohio State takes care of western Michigan very easily the next week. Wisconsin has trouble with South Dakota, which, you know, they rank 104th on Sagger, and it's not like that bad, but still, Wisconsin, after that performance should have took a better, a much bigger lead in that game, and that shouldn't have been so close either. But here we go. Then you got, Bama's a double digit road favorite. I watched that Bama South Florida game last week, and I'm not gonna lie, this is the same Jalen Milro that I've seen all year long last year, you know, he's kind of. It falters a little bit in big situations. He's big, athletic, but he doesn't seem to show up a lot till the fourth quarter. And he just seems to be able. To throw the deep ball. And if you play too high, shell on him, maybe, you know, maybe you can snag a pick or so against them. South Florida had them on the ropes for over three quarters. That was a misleading score at the end there. South Florida kind of just gave it away, you know? So it's like you look at the score. But, you know, I don't think people adjusted the power rating quite right on this.

Concerns Over Wisconsin’s Offensive Performance

Yeah, it's funny. It. Wisconsin is a much better dog. They are not as good as they used to be in the trenches, but they do have a couple running backs there. I think Walker might not play, but Ches Melushi should be playing. You know, a couple of the other guys, anchor should be playing. They still got their stub receiver and Paul. And he hasn't done anything yet because he's had Tyler Van Dyke. But, you know, this would be the spot that Wisconsin should be able to, you know, try to show up, and it's a much different role now, you know, question is, you know, was Bama's performance against Western Kentucky just how good they can be? Yes, but it's on the road. You know, a couple stats on the road. Bama since 2021, I think this might be as a double digit favorite. I think I got this from Gary Seegers. Actually, four and eight is a double digit road favorite since 2021. That is not good. You know, I mean, since Mac Jones, really, you know, it's. Mill Row can look pretty bad for a while. You know, Bama's always got a lot of turnover on this team. They have a new coach now and Kalyn, Deborah, I don't have to spread this high.

Betting Insights and Considerations

I did bet Wisconsin it might get to 17. I took 16 and a half. I'm sticking with it. Careful. I'm warning you right now. Is this a homer play? I don't know, but my power range do not have this high. I still think Bama wins from ten to 13 points, but I am not at 16 and a half. Ron, why don't you tell me where I'm wrong on this one? Kiev, I hope you're not wrong in this one, because my power ratings don't get. I mean, my power raises don't get to 14, much less 16 and a half. So are we. I could be a little bit low on Alabama, and they shown a lot of good things. And one of the running backs, I think you mentioned Melusi, he's off to a little bit of a slow start, but they have one or two others that could do some damage. I think Wisconsin is. I'm hoping Wisconsin isn't as bad as we've seen because their first game against Western Michigan was lined at six and a half wins to start the season.

Concerns Regarding Current Performance

So they're not at, you know, one of the bottom of the mill Mac teams. And South Dakota, I know they're lower level but they were ten and three a year ago, so they're not going against the complete bottom theaters. And I think Wisconsin didn't show anything spectacular, but they didn't show anything terrible as well. I think they're undervalued in this particular game. And I know you know, I've been there as well. 11:00, cap. Camp Randall starts are very interesting for the fan base there. And it. It really is a home field advantage that I'd like to give an extra half a point or a point, all things considered. I think Wisconsin shows up to this game and I also have Wisconsin in this game. Okay. All right, well, I have some support here now. Am I going to be defeated tomorrow? I don't know. I kind of wish it was a night game, you know, thrown in that situation. That'd be a little bit. A little bit funner for old badger faithful.

Appeal of the Game Atmosphere

Now that they're selling beer in the stands, though, I can just imagine the shit show that would be out by Camp Randall. But hey, we have another guest, the guy I just mentioned, Gary Cedars. Gary, you're not an Alabama fan, are you? Why don't you come on and tell. Us how this gonna play out? Well, yes, I am an Alabama fan. However, that does not impact whether or not I would betting on this game or not. Right? So if you look at what happened in that ballgame last week, the Alabama offensive line was completely different from what you would expect to see going into this game. In this game, you're going to have Proctor back at one of the tackles. You're going to have Pritchett back at one of the tackles. The fourth quarter, when Alabama actually started moving the football and had the explosive plays, et cetera, they brought Pritchett back into the game.

Evaluate Alabama's Game Strategy

They were trying their best to not play him because he was dealing with a minor injury. But once he came in, I mean, you saw in the fourth quarter, it was a 28 to three quarter. The question here is whether or not Alabama wants to show that offensive line to Georgia, because they got Georgia in two weeks. So if Bama thinks that they can win the game without playing both Pritchett and Proctor, then I think they would try to do that, in which case, yeah, I would side with the Wisconsin side, but it all depends on, you know, whether or not they end up playing both of those tackles. Everything today from Nick Kelly and all the Alabama reporters, etcetera, is they're all reporting that Proctor is going to play. They said earlier in the week that prince, it's going to play. But again, do you want to show anything to Georgia? And so we'll. We'll see exactly what it looks like.

Potential Outcomes and Game Analysis

But, I mean, this is one that I would stay away from because that might. All the success rate and explosive meter and all that kind of mess. I mean, it heavily leans Bama, but also, like fickle teams have routinely played to level the competition. So I. This is one I would stay away from. I would have zero lean. My numbers say Bama, but I ain't touching this one. Yeah, you know, you do mention exposed plays. Wisconsin defense also doesn't really look, you know, where it's been. And Jack Cheney suspended for the first half, one of their starting linebackers because of a targeting hit. So he's missing the first half of this game now, Bama. I'm hoping they start slow because of that, but, you know, that's the situation, too. And they do have some running backs in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin’s Personnel and Strategy

I, like I mentioned how we. Walker is questionable, but they have this kid named Kate Yakamelli who's actually running the ball really well, so I'm not too worried about it. Jackson Acker is more of a statue, in my opinion. I hope I don't see a lot of Jackson accurate, but, Brad, how about you? How's your power ratings looking on this game? What are your concerns for either side? I mean, I got a disparity here. I mean, I'm with you guys. I mean, I'm Alabama in the 13 range, which usually screams not only bet, but best bet variety once we're hitting week three. And I got a disparity above a somewhat key number of 14, and, you know, three and a half points, but I haven't got to the window yet. Maybe. Call me greedy, I'm waiting for the 17. It did flash at a book for less than a minute today, got bought back.

Game Expectations and Concerns

So that tells you, I think, a lot if we do happen to see it tomorrow. The problems, I haven't got to the window yet, despite a pretty sizable power ratings. Disparity is. This just doesn't seem to me like a classic Wisconsin team that can muck this game up on both sides of the line of scrimmage. It's nothing. An elite Wisconsin offensive line. It's not an elite Wisconsin defensive front. And I know you like the running backs, but I still don't see a monty ball. A James White, a Melvin Gordon, a Jonathan Taylor, Braylon Allen type. Just a guy that can hit some explosives in the run game. I also don't think Tyler Van Dyke looks 100% healthy to me. So that hurts in that regard. I think Alabama struggling so much last week probably hurts Wisconsin here.

Final Considerations for the Matchup

That Alabama probably be a little bit more focused in this one, especially with a buy on deck prior to the Georgia game in a couple of weeks, I just game script. I could see it being really tight and then Alabama had a couple of explosives late. Whether Ryan Williams Milroy scrambling around. I need a 17 to bet it. But right now I'm just in a holding pattern. If this was most Wisconsin teams for the last 30 years, it would best bet variety. I mean, because I would be pretty confident that they could hold up at the point of attack. That it's very true. You know, that's. And that's what Bama does sometimes. Just waste the end just puts it on you. Definitely a worry, obviously, if you're a badge fan, but Bama's got the athletes, you know, that's true.

Looking Ahead to Future Strategies

And if what Gary says about them holding out place for Georgia teammate play every single year, although it is a new coach, I think that's mistake. I don't think you should ever do that in such an atmosphere like Camp Randall. So that would be bad for Alabama in my opinion. Kyle, what about you? What do you have for this game? So, I mean, I think Wisconsin's offense being 100th in the nation in yards per play so far based on the competition they've gone against, definitely a really bad look. Van Dyke hasn't necessarily been awful, but he certainly hasn't been good considering the competition and the fact that they only have five plays of 20 yards or more in two games against that competition. I mean, they're just not explosive.

Wisconsin's Tactical Challenges

They no longer have the elite run game. I know Longo is trying to change the offense, but I feel like they kind of have no identity at this point. I just don't see many passive success on offense for Wisconsin. I definitely don't want to lay 16 points on the road I was considering earlier in the week. What do I want to bet here? Under 51 or Wisconsin team total under. I did end up going with Wisconsin team total under 17 and a half. That doesn't help the listeners too much now because, you know, 16 and a half is the highest you're going to find. 15 and a half. Some places I would lean in at that point. I still lean the under in this one, but it's been bet down.

Alabama’s Defensive Strength

I just think that Alabama's defense has been solid. Second and success rate allowed. They've actually played pretty decent offenses. To secondary has been really good. The fact that they got a scare last week, I think that they will be relatively focused in a game like this. So the unders is the way I would look in this one. Hey, Kyle, right quick. I apologize for interrupting. Do you have Wisconsin's tempo numbers right now? Like what is their pace of play? Because they are. It feels like they are significantly slower this year than they were last. Yeah, I got to bring it up. I didn't have it open, but I will look and get back with you in just that can. Good deal. Thank you. It does seem a little bit slower actually, Gary.

Wisconsin's Offensive Strategy

I think just kind of the rock fights they were in. The offense wasn't working with Tyler Van Dyke. We've hired Phil Longo for big situations, you know, and with that, you know, spread type offense, you know, combination, he wants to add the run game. It's just. It just doesn't make sense when he doesn't have the athletes that he used to have, you know, in North Carolina and some of the other schools that he coached at. You know, it's like if you don't have the athletes and you're running that, you know, fast paced, spread it out type offense, it's. It fails, you know? And I think we're seeing a lot of that. So we kind of fickle says slow it down, get back to the run.

Looking Forward Beyond This Game

And you know, they do stupid stuff, but shotgun and fourth and inches, you know, shotgun in the goal line. That stuff drives me nuts. But we can't just talk about this game because there's some great games to talk about. Just like the Apple cup. The Apple cup. And I'm excited for the Apple cup this year because I think it's got a little bit more meaning. Why don't we start with a Pac twelve guy like Ron, or I guess former Pac twelve. But Ron knows the West coast quite well. Ron, let's talk about the Apple cup. What do you have for Washington State at Washington in Lumen Field, by the way? So semi neutral, I guess maybe the papers. Washington. But what are your thoughts?

Analysis of Current Line Movement

Right now. I mean, pure power rating has it six. So I agree with the line movement throughout the week. I think it's tough because neither one's played, you know, overwhelming competition. Washington State obviously as the best opponent. I mean, Texas Tech, but Texas Tech could be significantly worse than what we expected. A Texas tech team that most losses a 32 point favorite in the opener to an FCS school. So. And also banged up and also in the game, Washington state. But you know, that I think they were the right side but the final score wasn't, you know, indicative of how the game played out. I mean, box score has it much closer than a three touchdown disparity. Game will learn a lot. I'm more on the under than anything. Weather could be a factor. Significant rain it looks like in the forecast style of play, probably with a new staff and a complete, almost completely new roster for Washington. I think they feel both squads feel each other out a little bit. Even last year with in my opinion, a dead nut. You know, Washington over team, you saw a very low scoring game between these two.

Team Performances and Expectations

So I like mature at quarterback. He. I didn't know he had that in him last week when he ran for nearly 200 yards. I like the versatility of Washington State's offense. I mean, two weeks ago, they threw for 400. Last week, they ran for 300. So I like that. I think Washington's been a little bit better than I expected at the line of scrimmage, but we'll find out this week because I wasn't expecting much. So stay away on the side. I certainly lean under. You know, what's funny about data points is, like, I think the only data point I could really trust is Texas Tech. And did I just swing and completely miss on Texas Tech? Should I. Should I ignore this? So I'm kind of with Gary here, and I did bet Washington state, and it did move against me, too, Gary. I took four and a half, you know, and there's reasons I did, and there's a lot of, like, you know, creative reasons here with Washington state.

Rivalry Context and Team Motivations

I mean, this is a team that has a lot of pride. I mean, that Washington state flag showed up every time at game day. You know, I remember all that. You know, I mean, I almost look at this rivalry, and I almost throw away my numbers, my power numbers, and just look at, it's like, wow, you have a big dog here. That should be extremely motivated. They just watch their rival go to the college football championship, and then I. They saw them go to the big ten and get invited to the big ten, you know, while they've been embarrassingly kind of left in the dust, you know, I mean, if there isn't a bigger time to get up as a kid to play in a big game, I would think it's this one, man. I mean, they watched their quarterback, Cam Ward, transfer to Miami, get paid millions of dollars to go play over there. You know, I just can't think of a bigger spot for watching stinks kids to come on and play, and they got to keep their coach Dickard stuck with them, man, I'm on Washington state for a decent sized play.

Expectations About the Game

Kyle, maybe you agree or disagree. And by the way, we have over 140 people here, and so we'd love to hear some questions. And, Kyle, I think you would get them, being that you open the spaces. So if there's any questions, come on, please feel free to say them after this game. But what are your thoughts on this one, Kyle? Yeah, I mean, I haven't bet this game, other than betting the under. I saw some sharp groups betting the under when the weather kind of popped up. Might even try to middle that one, depending on what happens with the number here. I want to. I want to bet Washington state. I just don't know what to make of Washington at this point. I think last week's win for Washington state was largely because of the field position from turnovers. They started their own 44 yard line, Texas back from their own 24 on average.

Quarterback Performances

Matir has been good, but he hasn't really been able to throw it. You know, he's a fantastic runner, but he's going to have to do a little bit better passing at some point. What is Washington? I don't know. I mean, they have six touchdowns and seven trips into the red zone. They probably can't keep that up. I know. I've heard some people complain like, well, this seems weird, the Apple cup game this early. We should just be happy we have this game. So I'm looking forward to this game. Like you said, they should have a massive chip on their shoulder. Washington State. How much is that worth from a points, you know, power rating standpoint? It's hard to put a number on that. But, you know, Washington State should be playing really hard in this one. I think the move on the under makes sense. We'll see if that one keeps going down.

Current Betting Sentiments

All right, great. So the under looks like the play here from Kyle side. What, what's the number at? I wrote down 54. Is that lower now? Yeah, it's still 54. So. Yeah, it was 56 and a half. Kiev. Let me add in too. I did. Look, Wisconsin's tempo is 64th. They're like one 10th of a second from the exact average in college football. So. Right at the average mark, which is. Slow for the air raid offense from long ago. Right? Yeah, so I mean, that. That's a point. They were top 25 last year, right? Top, top 30, at least I believe. Yeah, that's. That's what I thought. Yeah. Okay. No good points. Kyle, any questions before we move on to the next game?

Discussion on Top Team

Yeah, we did have a question. Well, who's the best team in college football right now if you absolutely had to choose? I don't. Yeah, right. Georgia, man. Georgia. It's Georgia. Come on, seriously. I have to say Georgia. And some people would say Ohio State, but I wouldn't say Ohio State no matter what because I feel like I'm jinx in my team. But I think Georgia is the number one team at this point. Everyone feel free to answer that. Brad, Gary, Ron. Georgia for me. Georgia. Easy. Georgia. Georgia as well. On and off the field if you base it on miles per hour and speeding. Gary liked that one too much. All right, let's move on to a really interesting game.

Reflections on Previous Week

And I'm still kicking myself for not betting northern Illinois last week because I circled them in a letdown, but I got greedy, and then it went to 28. I was like, I'm gonna wait till it gets to. I got busy to even get around to it, and they went out, you know, so. So I gotta tell you this. I didn't punish Notre Dame as much as this freaking line is. I hear that maybe Riley Leonard might not play, but I mean, geez, now it's all the way down to seven and a half, and I wasn't exactly highest for high end Purdue myself. But, you know, it's funny, it's like, you look at stats, you know, who's got the biggest EPA margin right now? It's Purdue. Because it's way too early for some of this stuff, you know, and they didn't play anybody, you know? So it's just, I don't know how good, really, Purdue is.

Insights into Notre Dame's Context

I know Notre Dame's in a spot where they better get up here, but then again, they're on the road, you know, and I don't look at Notre Dame as a big covering team myself. I guess I start with Brad, being that he nose is irish up and down. But Brad, I mean, if I was going to take Purdue, it would have been a long time ago, and my numbers really disagreed. I'm in the double digits, Brad, and. But I'm scared to get to the window right now. It's just one of those bigger overlays for me that I haven't bet. What are your thoughts, Brad? Yeah, obviously a late to the party if you want to bet Purdue, although I wouldn't be a bit surprised the line comes down because I don't think Riley Leonard is going to play here in this game.

Market Reactions to Quarterback's Status

I think they're going to play Evangeli. So once that gets announced, whether it's an hour before kick or ten minutes before kick, the market will react, and I think it's already reacted. In fact, I think it's probably already overreacted. I don't think Riley Leonard's worth that much when a guy's only got one completion of more than 20 yards in two games. I like Riley Leonard. I just. He hasn't shown it, and he's not healthy. And after he took a pop relatively early in northern Illinois game, after the first drive, I mean, he barely even ran. So if he can't throw and can't run because he's banged up, I mean, he's just. He's not worth anything. He's certainly not worth five points to spread as this lines, you know, climb down five points.

Statistical Expectations

So what I'm looking for, it's a little in the weeds, but I'm looking for that to hit the old Dom best screen when he gets announced out and I'll probably be playing Notre Dame if, especially if I can get it through that ultimate key number seven. With that being said, I don't know what Purdue is this year. I was a little higher in the market on Purdue, but who knows? They played a below average FCS team, so who knows? I will say they've been probably prepping for this game all summer. I mean, playing an FCS team, then a buy and then Notre Dame, so they should be sky high. But I think the worst thing to happen for Purdue was Notre Dame losing last week.

Game's Context and Team Focus

So that should have Notre Dame laser focus because their season is basically on the line here. So, yeah, I'm just waiting. I've already bet Purdue, but I'm waiting for the news to hit and I'll probably, I'll have a bigger bet on Notre Dame if I can get it through key number seven. You know, you make a great point about playing against the overaction for the backup quarterback. You can kind of look at that. I might have a. Might have a thought on that. Utah. Utah staking coming up here as the spread keeps dropping too. But that's a great point, Brad. You know, there sometimes the markets just overreacts to one thing and it's just such a big spot and it's not like Riley lender has been lighted up anyway, so that great stuff.

Insights on Betting for Notre Dame

What about you, Kyle, on this game? Do you have anything on the side or the total for Notre Dame? Purdue? Yeah, I mean, I was going to say there's just no way you can get a power ratings number to seven and a half. I mean, there, I don't think that it could be justified in this. Purdue, we don't know what they're going to be. You know, this is a team I like, Ryan Walters. This is a big turnaround project, though. They lost a lot of their best players. Those guys were kind of picked off their team in the portal. I know they have a past history of pulling upsets. I don't really know if that matters too much in a game like this.

Historical Context and Player Impact

Some people put too much into that. I think it's a completely different team. A lot of those Purdue teams were better than this. I do think Hudson card is pretty good. I think Notre Dame's defensive line shuts down the run here. Can Purdue beat them through the air? I mean, I have to lean Notre Dame at this number, and if this one goes through seven with the news coming out, I'll have to bet Notre Dame, even if. Even if I don't really want to. It's just, you know, somebody's betting Purdue like it's free money or something, and we don't even really know what they are.

Thoughts on Notre Dame's Potential

So Notre Dame, I think they're a lot better than what people just saw last week, and you would think they would come in here with some attitude, so I would. I would agree with what Brad said there on Notre Dame. Okay, it looks like Gary had a drop. How about you, Ron? Any thoughts on this game? Do you also have a pretty big overlay, like myself and Kyle and Brad's situation where he's waiting on firing on Notre Dame? Yeah, same thing. I'm. You guys hit it. Exactly. We've seen this overreact a little bit.

Purdue's Current Standing

We don't know much at all about Purdue right now. We know it's year two of the staff, promising staff. We know, like Brad said, they have really probably prepped for Notre Dame all offseason and even through the first week, and then that rare early, you play one game and then you're already resting with a buy. So all that helps. Riley Leonard. Yeah, he was what, 38 completions for 321 yards is what I've seen. This used to be a rivalry game. Back when I was much younger. Purdue used to play Notre Dame a lot, used to have some good matchups in the old days, so maybe they're reviving that for a little bit.

Final Thoughts on Betting Timing

I think it's just too late to bet this game. If you liked Purdue, and I don't even know what you're getting out of Purdue. And I kind of agree that with Notre Dame losing last week, they pretty much have to run the table now to get into the playoff picture because that's a bad loss when you're favored by 28 at home. So I think Notre Dame's attention is all going to be on this game. Purdue's attention is all going to be on this game. I just don't think there's any value left for me to even think about it.

Conclusion on Potential Bets

Yeah, I mean, if you're going to bet Purdue, yeah. That boat completely sailed by, so you definitely are looking Notre Dame here in this situation. Now, we had a question about Kyle. Just text me Boston College against Missouri and Kyle, maybe you could let us know who asked that question. This is a great game. I actually have something on this game, Kyle, I'm guessing. I'm curious what your thoughts on the total. So why don't you let us know who asked that question and tell us your thoughts on it? Yeah, Mike D. Asked that question. Thanks, Mike, for tuning in, and I'm bringing that one up right now.

Summary and Future Considerations

I know I leaned the under in that game. I considered the under pretty strongly. Ended up not taking it. You know, I think Boston College really has slowed down their pace. 129th in the nation and tempo. I think that's a big schematic change. Castellano is a quarterback. I think they might be trying to rein him in a little bit. He's. He's definitely a good quarterback, but he makes some big mistakes at times. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do offensively, though, against a Missouri defense that, you know, is clearly very good.

Insights on Team Performances

They haven't really faced anybody too much yet. Boston College's defense has looked good thus far. You know, they shut down Florida State. What does that mean? You know, we'll see. I just think that this total is a little bit too high. I think it's been adjusted down a little bit here in the marketplace, which makes sense to me. As far as a side, I could only lean Boston College plus the points. I think the under and the underdog are somewhat correlated in a game like this, but I haven't bet it. But those are my leans in this game. All right, Brad, what about you? Have you looked at Boston College, Missouri, this week?

Brad's Perspective on the Game

Yeah, I'm. I gave out the under to clients today, so I like it quite a bit. Probably was, you know, earlier day. My favorite total on the board under for the reasons Kyle mentioned. I mean, BC, to me, could be a dead night under team until the market reacts, you know, one of the slowest tempo teams. I think their defense is improved, even though we don't have great data points.

Discussion on Missouri's Defense and Offense

I mean, but still, them holding Florida State to 13 was much better than, you know, anticipated heading into that game. They can play ball control. I like their offensive line, but on the other side, you know, Missouri's defense, I mean, you can only control who you play. You know, control who you play, you know, how you play. Once the schedule set, and, I mean, they haven't given up a point yet so far on defense, even though it's a couple of tomato cans. But offense, you know, they're a little banged up. I mean, I know Luther Burden and other wide receiver, see, we're going to play, but maybe they're not 100%. Brady Cook hasn't been in mid season form yet. Still, to me, seems like the run game is missing, you know, Cody Schrader type. So, yeah, under earlier today was my favorite play.

Thoughts on Game Lines and Totals

And, Ron, what about you? Was your numbers agreeing with this 14 and a half point line or anything on the total? Yeah, the line's pretty close. I sure wish I paid a little bit more attention totals. I'm mostly a straight player, especially in the college ranks, because you guys made some great points. I'm just looking over the numbers. And Missouri's running backs, they're down a notch this year, and they played a two and nine team and a Buffalo team that has a new coach. So you'd think just off osmosis or something that they would have been a little bit more flashy, even though they didn't need to show much of anything. And Burton's off to a slow start. Yeah. So he needs to get healthy because he's a first round NFL target. I'm impressed with what Bill O'Brien's done on both sides of the line, of scrimmage, in the trenches, stopping Florida State cold in the run and also running up, you know, what do they have?

Explaining Game Performance and Possible Outcomes

Over five yards per carry in their two games? So, impressed with Bill O'Brien, probably. That under is a real good look. I agree. Okay, so, I mean, my power range has Missouri as a bigger favorite here, though it said he's 17 and a half. So, you know, that's the side I was kind of looking at. I mean, even though I think they're kind of overachieved last year, can I really believe that Boston College is that good because they beat a Florida State team? I don't know. The data points. Florida State has been terrible so far. I don't know. It could Bill O'Brien change them that quick? Maybe so, but I'm probably going to have to play the favorite here. I'm hoping it gets down to 14, actually. You know, it's just my numbers have that high, and it's an SEC team that's wants to compete, you know, and if you're. If we're right about the defense, then this could be a blowout.

Considering Offensive Performance and Expectations

But at the same time, I feel like a total a hole here, but actually lead to the over this game because I think Missouri can put up a ton of points against this team. And I almost feel like Bill Bryan be more of an offensive focus, you know, maybe. Yeah, he can get some points out of his kids, just like he did get 28 against Florida State. Now, Castellanos has been obviously good so far. 73% throw in, you know, six touchdowns, no interceptions. So maybe, maybe this does get to the over. So, you know, I hate going against you guys, but I'm going to lean to the over on that one. We have another request here for North Texas against Texas Tech for the side in the total. Kyle, who asked that and do you have any thoughts on it?

Analysis of North Texas vs Texas Tech

Yeah, Eric now asked about that when, you know, I have a hard time with this one. We don't know if Taj Brooks is going to play. I think he's a pretty big deal to the offense. Baron Morton is. I feel like sometimes he's just a walking turnover and other times he looks pretty good. I mean, you would guess that it looked pretty good against North Texas because, you know, that defense is. Is that bad. I definitely lean to the over here in this one, but I have been burned several times before by Texas Tech. You know, moving the ball up and down the field and not being able to punch it in because they're turning it over in the red zone. My numbers are just a little bit higher than this, but, you know, the helmet communications there's on unders have been coming in pretty high amount so far this year. It's tough for me to take over 69 or 69 and a half, so, you know, I would lean that, but I don't think I'm going to bet it as far as the side.

General Observations on Team Performances

I really don't have anything here. I think ten is a fair number. Like I said, I think Taj Brooks is really pretty key to this because they need to have that balance. Gotcha. I have a 12.25, so I'm still kind of in no man's land between the ten and a half and the twelve and a half. You know, if there's two teams that I really didn't research as much as I probably should have, it is probably these two teams here. Texas Tech losing outright was extremely ugly. You would think they're being. They'd be in a big spot. But like you said, the quarterback situation and all the questions there, you just don't know what you're going to get. You know, I expected North Texas to be a halfway decent team as well. They've won both their games, but South Alabama was supposed to be down this year.

Concerns Over Team Performance and Roster Changes

They lost everybody. You know, it's. I can't give them too much credit for being that. And then only 15 points against Stephen F. Austin. Now, Stephen Austin's a decent FCS program, but I don't know if that's right, Brad. Is that how much they should have beaten by according to power ratings for Stephen F. Austin? I don't do the FCS myself, Bradley. No, they came up short. They were laying about 24 in that game. There was yard. I bet both teams over their games last week lost both yards. Were there both games, just efficiency and obviously scoring wasn't there. So I concur with Kyle that I want to bet the over, but I just, I, after losing both teams over last week, it's a pass for me.

Match Up Importance and Predictions

And then on the side, I made eleven points. So very important game for North Texas. Opportunity for them to get a win over, obviously a big twelve team, but also very important game for Texas Tech. I mean, I mean, their seasons on the ropes right now, that their schedule is pretty light at the start, but then it gets a lot tougher here at the end. And I mean, if they don't win this game, I mean, you could be staring at like a three and nine, four and eight type of season. Yeah, it's pretty dangerous waters right now for Texas Tech. You know, I think I would trade, you know, I had, the bottom four is like the Houston, Cincinnati, Arizona State and BYU, but maybe I should trade ASU for Texas Tech, you know, in the big twelve.

Evaluation of Team Strategic Positions

Bottom four is kind of what I keep thinking here in ASU. Only probably been pretty fantastic this year. Ron, how about you? What do you have on Texas Tech against North Texas? So when I first saw this matchup after just saying that I really don't concentrate on the totals, I said, oh, my goodness, these teams are playing each other. This is going to be 80 points. So my first inclination was especially with Texas Tech now, I mean, you're talking about a mediocre team that's just trying to get to six wins and they go to overtime against Abilene Christian and then they don't get it done against Washington State.

Texas Tech's Performance Outlook

So they better come to play in this game and they better finish drives because you can't afford to lose this game and try to get to the mediocre six wins just to go to a minor bowl. I still think I have a strong lean to the over in this game, but no opinion on the straight action. And this is one of the higher totals at 69 and a. Yeah, half of the week. And Kyle, I think this might be the highest total of the week, which is kind of head scratcher. What happened to those 72, 73, 74 point totals, man? It's like they really been by the wayside, especially since last year when they obviously started stopping the clock.

Analysis of Market Trends

So interesting stuff right there. Great breakdowns, guys. Now we just got to move into our segment where we pick up dog that's most likely to win outright. It's got to be the rules. Got to be. It's got to be 3.5 or plus 135, which is around that number, obviously, in most of the books. We're not going to police it too hard, obviously, but this is a fun little exercise that we like to do. And Kyle and I've actually been pretty successful picking these, and our guests have, too, on this spaces and. And a lot of times that we've done this.

Underdog Predictions and Choices

So, Kyle, are you ready? Do you have one for us? most likely dog. And. And I should ask you first because I keep stealing yours, so you. You should go first and maybe you'll steal one of mine. Yeah, I mean, I. I will say I don't love a lot of underdogs this week, so this is not one of my favorite plays that I've given out here, but I'm going to take Rice against Houston. Houston put in that big effort last week. We saw what Houston was, though, in the first game as well against UNLV.

Evaluating Match-ups and Team Performance

Now, I know UNLV is a solid team, but I think Rice looks so bad against Sam Houston. Kind of had a virtual bye week last week. Houston plays that big game. We know rice in Houston is a rivalry of sorts. I think Rice has a fighting chance in that one. So I'm going take Rice. Rice, rice, baby. I like it. Plus four right now. Plus 154 on DK. Ron, have you thought about this and found a dog plus three and a half or better to win outright for the weekend?

Unique Bet Considerations

Well, I thought about it for the last two minutes since I didn't know about this exercise so I could go with the Florida's of the world, but, you know, why not go out on a whimde? Completely sold on BYU. And I know Wyoming's laid an egg a lot, but I just don't trust BYU as a road favorite. If the game stiffens up and we find out that BYU's offense isn't clicking on all cylinders, why can't Wyoming make this a one score game and pull it out? So just out of the blue, give me Wyoming as. As a double-digit dog that could win.

Thoughts on Underdog Potential

Oh, man, I love it. And I. I wish I should have text you this. I thought that would have been covered, but sorry about that. No, I. That's great. I can circle. Wyoming is a possible bet this week as well, and why not? Why not go for the upset? I can see some variance in this game for sure. I'm disappointed you didn't pick the civil war though, Ron. You know, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to stick it to Oregon.

Remarks on Rivalry Games

Well, Kyle and Kiev, you told me this is a show rated g or pg and any comments on that game would be rated r. Probably, so I'm going to pass on that. Oh, Rodney, alumni. Hey, man, I want Oregon State to win. All right. I'm not sure about it, but I think anything could happen in both that Washington state and Oregon state game.

Final Thoughts on Plays and Predictions

Man, Oregon not look the part. I think this 17 is just. I think that's getting too large. Brad, what about you, man? Have you thought about this and found a dog? Most likely we're not, right. I'm going to take an easy answer. So UCLA plus three and a half against Indiana. I know it's 3.25, but there's three and a half's out there. I have UCLA favorite in my power ratings so I'm not buying Indiana yet.

Team Evaluations and Picks

I mean, they beat FIU, a bottom ten FBS team and a really bad FCS team in western Illinois that's lost 26 straight games. UCLA looked terrific or horrific. Not terrific against Hawaii to say the least, but kudos. They rallied. They had a bye week to reset a little bit. I just pure power ratings from UCLA. If you wanted bigger ones, I'll give you a couple of stunners that I would not be totally shocked. Connecticut over Duke and central Michigan over Illinois.

Underdog Outcomes and Team History

So a 16 and a 21. Like it. I love it, dude, because I was just, I wasn't going to say this one, but since I was going to say what about Brett Belemont thinking how hot he is all week after beating Kansas. We just saw Kansas play this game and have central Michigan coming at what, plus 900 or something to win this. I think their quarterback is still on the shelf and hasn't played yet this year. So they're still playing their backups.

Potential for Upset Situations

And I know their backups threw like five picks last week and lost to FIU, but this is like where college football really just kicks people in the ass. It would not shock me at all for the Chippewas to go into Illinois against Bulima and beat him, man. So I love that. You know, I'm probably just going to have to do that one. But I am copping out myself because I'm taking Florida just like Ron said, you know, I mean, Texas A and M might not even have Wigman this game.

Game Analysis and Predictions

You know, he's questionable and Florida is going to have both their quarterbacks. Graham Mertz is going to be there. You know, they were embarrassed against Miami. They did obviously whip Samford. Not too many people probably watched that game. But I, there's nothing from Texas A and M that tells me that they should be a favorite over three points against Florida. And it's a swamp. It's going to be a lot harder this week in my opinion.

Critical Considerations for Game Performance

I don't see how Texas a m. Is going to put a lot of points really. I know Ford's defense is that good, but Texas ain't off. Offense is putrid. I'd like to coach Elko, but I think it's going to take time for him to, you know, get that team together. So I'll go Florida plus 140 or whatever it is. So those are my thoughts. Kyle, any last thoughts on this week in college football and where could our wonderful listeners get your great information?

Conclusion and Information Source

Yeah, Kiev. I'm going to go way off the beaten path just to give one more bet out here. Arkansas first quarter team total over eight and a half. UABD like, I feel like this is just perfectly on brand for me to go way off the beaten path if you don't have first-quarter team totals. I do like Arkansas first half team total over as well. I think UAB is in some major trouble. Arkansas's offense looking a lot better, so I want to give that one out as well.

Really respect your work and it's been great to chat with you again for the first time here on the show.

Final Opinions and Future Engagements

Thanks for having me, guys. Really appreciate it. Absolutely, Brad. And you know, and you already gave out a few plays, but where could our listeners get your great information as well? Yeah, you can follow me on Twitter next. Brad Power seven. You like what you see there or you don't. You can head on over to the website Brad powersports.com dot. Yeah, check out Brad at Brad Power Sports. Thanks again, Brad, for coming on. Love it. And Ron, what about you? Where could our listeners get your great media and information?

Media Engagement and Information Access

Two thoughts. First one, I agree with Brad. I thought UCLA should be favored in that particular game and two, found it interesting that Illinois at home rushed the field after the game against Kansas last week, which tells you where football is these days. Kansas is the vaunted team, the road team that you have to beat, and Illinois rushes the field. You can find me on various videos Las Vegas Chris and I, we brainstormed the NFL on Tuesday.

Contributions and Collaborations in Media

My longtime friend Ted Sobel joins Chris and I on Thursday. I taught college also on Thursday with the East coast guys. Jeff Dawson does a great job and every once in a while write an article or appear with you and Kyle.
