Behind the Mic
Introduction to the College Football Discussion
Alright, welcome in, everybody. Friday night, talk about some college football for Saturday, October 12. Hope you've had a good week. We'll try to get into a lot of games here tonight, really good games this weekend. So looking forward to it. I'll give people just a brief time here to get in and then we'll try to get things started. Patrick, Brian, Brandon, Eddie, Bill. Shout out to everybody who's already in here. Appreciate you guys. Hope you've had a good week. And let's see, we got, see if we can get.
Engaging the Audience
All right, we got Douglas in here. Douglas, how's your week going, man? How are you? Weeks pretty much over Kyle. You know how these weeks go. You get to Friday night, you're just trying to hold things together long enough for kickoff. That's right. Flying, flying by. That's for sure. And the season's flying by too, man. This season, when you college football, great season. It moves really fast. That's for sure. All right, we got Joey on here as well. Joey, how's it going tonight over there, man? I mean, you know what? I'm sweating out right now, so it's going pretty good right now. That's right. Good start, man. We won't say too much. Yeah, yeah. Need to close this game out.
Discussing the Games and Players
All right, we got Josh, better known as step on a duck, on here with us. Duck, man. How are you tonight? Doing really well. How about yourself, Kyle? Doing well, man. This is a good weekend of games. Really good slate. We're going to try to get to a lot of these games here. So looking forward to chatting these games with all you guys. Also, we got Klee picks here. Clee's here to chat the games with us. How you doing, man? Good, Kyle. Glad to see cam risings amongst the living again and not questionable for the rest of his career in playing football. I was wondering how I was at one point there. I'm glad to see that as well. Northwestern takes a 24 ten lead, unlv 41 seven half boy, Utah state. And yeah, I'm gonna be watching.
Transitioning to Game Analysis
I'm gonna try not to pay too much attention to this Utah game till we get done with the spaces here and watch the end of that game. But I see rising one for five to start the game. Not shocking. Alright, guys, so let's try to jump into the games here. We've got, I'm gonna pull this up. All right, as you guys know, if you've listened before, this is being recorded. So if you're listening back later, that's awesome, too. We got quite a few games to hit on and let's get right into it. Let's go, Cal and pit here to start. Cal. I'll start on this one. Cal. What a brutal way to lose a game last weekend. I mean, it was like after 02:30 a.m. eastern calip with that huge lead.
Analyzing the Game: Cal vs. Pitt
Justin Wilcox is an underdog. He did cover against the spot of spread but man, tough way to lose a game. I kind of think that Pitt is fraudulent as a undefeated team. Holstein's fun. They're a good team, but they're not as good as their record. But I don't want to bet against them in this spot. I mean, do you want to bet against you? Do you want to bet cow going across the country after losing a game like that? I don't know. I. I think I would lean the over in this game as far as the side. I'm going to stay off. I think it was Gary took this for pit on the bet US college football show earlier this week, but I want to see what the guys have to say about this one. Let's start with Douglas. Douglas, what do you think of the situational spot here? Anything you like here.
Douglas's Perspective on the Game
I think you pretty much summed it up on Sunday. I grabbed pit three and a half thinking it would move off. That simply given the bad situational spot for Cal, it stuck to three and a half all week. But I haven't. I haven't put additional thought into it. Three and a half was a good enough number for me to pick can be fraudulent as an undefeated team. I thought you phrased that well. They'd be. If they were. What are they played five games. If they were three and two, you'd be saying, yeah, this is what they are. A three and two. Pit would still be favored by three and a half against this cow. I like the spot and that's. That's a rare thing for me to say, that I simply like a spot.
Continuing the Analysis
It's hard to argue with that. I mean, I think the other side would be. Wilcox as an underdog has been great. I mean, he's not getting too many points here. This situation is a lot different than what they've been in most of the time. Cow is 53rd in yards per play margin in the country. Pitts 11th. Now they have played a little bit weaker schedule. I like that. Pit is actually playing fast. They stuck to their guns and are actually really moving. Nardusias allowed the offensive coordinator to go ahead and play his style, which has definitely worked out pretty well. All right, let's go to Klee. You got anything here? Cal and Pitt?
Klee's Insights
Yeah, I actually really like Pitt in the spot. I mean, this is the third time now that cows gone west east with the previous two trips being Auburn and Florida state where they just completely laid an egg back time. The spots just kind of terrible. I mean, you're, you know, we don't have to go into full detail what happened against Miami, you know, and Pitts feeling good about themselves. They're five and oh ats as well. I think they win this game. I think they win this game going away. I really like Pit tomorrow at 330. All right. Yeah. Cal has taken 18 sacks so far this year and Amendoza holds the ball quite a while.
Joey's Thoughts on the Game
So that's something I would keep an eye on because Pitts defense is pretty aggressive. All right, Joey, what do you like here? Calvin Pitt, man. Tough, tough spot. It's really going to come down to, I think, because I think this Cal defense is really good and they can give the offensive line of pit some trouble, especially on the edge. Holstein tends to. He's got had some turnover luck this year. I mean, he's got a high number of turnover worthy plays. Yeah, I mean, I've watched them myself. It's not really encouraging to really be like, okay, they definitely have the better quarterback play. I mean, I think, I want to bet Cal. I think they get off the mat here.
Joey's Continued Analysis
I think it was more of an encouraging thing to watch how they played against Miami. I think it speaks more to Miami's, you know, pedigree that they came back and won that game. I mean, I kind of saw it coming when they were down 21. It looked like Narduzzi was a little banged up. Did you lose me? Hello. So good. Okay. It looked like Narduzzi was a little banged up towards the end of that game and I actually texted one of my buddies and placed Miami plus 1000 when they were down 21 in the fourth quarter because it looked like Miami had a good chance to come back in this game and they did. But overall, I mean, the thing with Nordu Holstein is he puts the ball in danger a lot and I think against a good defense like Cal, that's a problem.
Duck's Perspective on the Matchup
I think that coaching, I think they have an advantage there as well. I would have had this game closer to a pick em and I think it would have been if Miami, if Cal had pulled the upset. So I'm comfortable with taking the field goal on the road despite, you know, having to get off the mat here. All right, duck, what do you think about this one? Really hard game to handicap, to be honest with you, because I think Cal's defense is still pretty good given the collapse, despite the collapse yesterday, last week against Miami, and they've played pretty well against Auburn, San Diego State and at Florida State earlier in the season. It's just such a hard spot for Cal to kind of get off the mat in a game that they had firmly in hand, up 20 in the fourth quarter and just completely collapsed.
Assessing the Team Performance and Predictions
This is definitely the best defense I believe that Pittsburgh has faced this year. You look at North Carolina, Youngstown State, West Virginia can't state all terrible teams and Pittsburgh is probably a as fraudulent to five and O as you'll ever see. It's just a really tough game to cap and if pressed, I don't have a play on the game, but if pressed, gosh, I'd have to lean Pittsburgh purely just given the spot, the travel, the situation, the collapse from last week, really hard for Cal to potentially get off the mat here, in my opinion. All right, let's move on to Penn State USC. Let's talk about this one interesting travel spot.
Travel Concerns and Team Analysis
Shout out to Yvetta, who mentions that Big ten teams are one and eight when crossing two time zones in conference games. We got a big travel spot here in this one. I think that's why Penn State's been fated here on the money. USC has not really looked like a team that would catch a ton of money against a team like Penn State, but it is a long travel spot. I think the thing that surprised me about Penn State is why haven't they been able to run better? I mean, they have two really good running backs. They don't have explosive runs so far this year. You know, the, I don't think the offensive line is bad, but a total of six runs of 20 yards or more so far, this far into the season, I really would have expected much better USC defense, not giving up the big plays, but I mean, they're definitely not a great defense.
Evaluating the Strengths and Weaknesses
Lynn can't fix this overnight. Penn State's defense is the best unit on the field by a large margin. I don't think I'm going to bet this game, honestly. So I want to see what you guys have to say. Let's, let's hear some pitches. I kind of feel like there might be some disagreement here. Some people would like each side, so let's start it off here with duck. We'll go in reverse order here. What do you think of this Penn State USC game? I feel like it's an under game. I feel like 51 and a half. I'm going to take the under in this position. I think that Penn State is going to try to control the clock.
Game Strategy and Further Discussion
They've played lower scoring games than what you would expect from a Penn State offense. And the USC defense is actually pretty improved. I mean, they've put a focus on the defense all offseason and into this year. Their defense has been improved compared to what we've seen from USC in the past. I think that Penn State will be able to neutralize the USC offense to some degree and it just feels like a lower scoring heavyweight bout. If a revolver was to my head, I would play Penn State against the number because I think they'll win the game and likely by more than three.
Response to Game Trends and Special Teams Impact
But USC has taken some money. Like you had mentioned later on in the week, I just feel like it's a lower scoring game than what you would have typically expect from a USC team. And so I'd go under 51 and a half. Yeah, that's what my numbers suggest, too. I know there's been some sharp play here on the over, which, you know, I don't feel strongly enough that I, I don't think I'm going to take it, but my numbers would say take the under here as well. All right, Joey, what do you think of this one? For the reasons that step on a duck, I believe just spoke to correct likes the under. I actually like USC in this spot. They've been pretty good at defending the pass.
Joey's Take on the Game Conditions
You mentioned the travel spot already and I think it's going to come down to, if this is a low scoring game, it comes down to special teams in SP, Penn State 106th in special teams. USC ranks 26th. That's big when you play in a close, low scoring game. Could come down to field positioning and field goals. And in a game like that, I'm going to roll with the special teams, the better special teams. I do believe the quarterback plays on even level. I think Miller, Moss, despite how great Penn State defense actually is, will find some success against this unit and I think that USC's defense is good enough to keep them in this game as well.
Kyle's Reactions and Predictions
Joey, I have to say, like, we've done this last year and this year I knew that you were going to be on USC in this one. This was like a massive favorite that you were going to be on USC here. Oh, yeah. You had to set a line and probably like -500 I think I would. Have laid the -500 so I think Miller Moss is going to be throwing the ball wide here, so he better be. Good morning before this one because I don't think USC can run, but they're going to be throwing here. Let's see if they can move it by the throw.
Game Conditions and Strategies
All right, what do you think? Yeah, I like the Trojans here, but I got him at plus five on Wednesday night. Now, obviously the numbers back down to three and a half, but I still like that for them. Travel you guys talked about as well. You heard James Franklin kind of whine about it earlier in the week, and that's the other factor too, is I don't trust James Franklin the spy. No, SC dropped out of the top 25, but, you know, I still kind of consider them a top 25 team. So I'll still try to, you know, configure that two and twelve versus top twenty-five teams and his tenure on the road into play here.
Preparing for Game Analysis
I think SC is a very good team at home and kind of iffy on the road. I think they got caught looking ahead clearly last week at Minnesota, and obviously that cost them. So in the end, I think, as you guys said, kind of a lower scoring game, but I just trust USC a little bit more here. And I like them plus three and a half. Kyle, I gotta interrupt you here cause I gotta break the news. Camera isn't hurt again, is he? Seriously, I'm not watching. Yeah, he just limped off the field.
Injury Concerns
Like a leg injury or, I mean, it didn't look good when he got hit. Definitely looked like a lower leg injury maybe, but he's definitely hurt again. So we're gonna see Zach Wilson's little brother in the game. I think I'd be surprised if he comes back in theory, Cam rising is good, but just that. Can he play, man? I was hoping he could stay in there. All right, Douglas, we haven't heard from you about this one. Are you like in the USC side? Are you going to be the Penn State? What do you think here?
Douglas's Stance
I've stayed off this game entirely. I was actually just looking at it, preparing for tomorrow morning. One thing I do want to note, that one and eight stack going around Tom for Nelli broke it down. First of all, it's two and ten. And second of all, the favorites in those twelve games are ten and two. It's not necessarily a travel thing so much as those teams were supposed to lose. It was UCLA going to Penn State, Michigan State going to Oregon, Wisconsin going to USC. None of these things were that shocking. In all reality, the two losses were both USC favored at Michigan and at Minnesota.
Concluding Thoughts on Travel Trends
But I guess in that regard, USC is now at home. So I'm not thinking about that travel stat. It's a ten and two for the favorites. Is nothing that any of us would ever worry about. Ten and two straight up. Yes. Okay, do you know what it is, ATS. If you come back to me in about three minutes, I can figure it out. I'm looking at all those spreads right in front of me. Next, next time, next game, we'll throw. Throw it in. All right.
Upcoming Game Discussions
It's gonna be interesting, too, because not just the big ten. I mean, the ACC has got wild ones at this point, too. So we're gonna have a lot bigger database of those to be looking at as we go forward. All right, let's go on to the next game. Let's see, what did I have next? Trying to keep track here. All right, let's go. Let's go. Georgia Tech, Unc here on this one. Then we'll go Kansas State, Colorado. All right. Georgia Tech, Unc. I got to be honest with you. I can't bethe North Carolina with anybody's money.
Georgia Tech vs. UNC Analysis
I couldn't bet it with any Earl's money. So the question is Georgia Tech or pass? I haven't bet this one. The movement here has been a little interesting. It started at four, went up to six, back down to four. I don't know. I mean, over is what I want to bet here, but I didn't get a good enough number. And this absolutely steamed really quick from 55 and a half up to 59. Now 60 and a half. I think the over is just gone at this point. So I got nothing here. Let's see if you guys. I can't remember who picked this game.
Engaging Others on the Game Discussion
Who was the one that wanted to talk about this game? All right, we'll just see what you guys think about this one here real quick. Let's start with Klee on this one. You got anything? Georgia Tech, North Carolina. No, I have no real say in it. I don't trust Unc's offense and see enough of it this year to, you know, not put any money on it. And, you know, Georgia Tech or pass for me. Yeah, don't trust the offense very much and definitely don't trust the defense either.
Douglas's Perspective on UNC's Performances
So, Douglas, anything? Georgia Tech, North Carolina. What is. What does our mutual friend Parker Fleming always like to say? It can always get worse. North Carolina is becoming the greatest case study we've ever had of it. It can always get worse. And, yeah, I think this weekend it gets worse, man. And Mack Brown, I mean, he's had a good run, but if they. Has he had. Has he had a good run? He had two top ten level quarterbacks at North Carolina and did exactly what with them. Yeah, he had a good run at.
Reflecting on Coaching and Team Performance
Texas 20 years ago. Congratulations. Yeah, I was going to say. I should say he had a good run of Texas, but not a great run in North Carolina. Time to bring back butcher. I mean, this is. This is getting a little bit. I know. He said that he would resign and then he stayed and they should have beaten Duke. They didn't beat Duke. I don't know. You just can't bet North Carolina here, can you? I don't know. Joey, what do you think? Are you betting North Carolina or not?
Joey Responds to the UNC Situation
Absolutely not. You can't do the whole. Yeah, no, I can't take them. Take them here. If you could take away Hampton. North Carolina can't move the ball. And this Georgia Tech defense has been really good against the run this year. I just don't see how anyone can logically take North Carolina outside of it being a contrarian play. And that's the only reason you're taking it, because it's a contrarian play? Honestly, I'd be surprised if Georgia Tech doesn't win by double digits. But, I mean, you never know.
Duck's Final Thoughts
It is a road game. It is tough to win on the road in college football. All right, duck, you have anything here? Georgia Tech, North Carolina. All right, let's see. Yep, I'm here. Sorry. Yeah, I do. I really like Georgia Tech in this spot. I think that they're really flying high off the Duke win. I think they rebounded nicely off of a tough Louisville loss where they not only didn't cover, they didn't win, they should have probably won the game on the field, let alone not cover the number against Louisville. And, gee whiz, North Carolina, their defense is just atrocious.
Preview of the Upcoming Matchup
And it's after the blowout loss against James Madison where they couldn't stop anything, gave up almost 700 yards, and then the way they lost against Duke, and then follow that up with a ten point loss against Pittsburgh where they really never threatened in the fourth quarter. Hard to back that team for sure. And so Georgia Tech is a play that I made earlier in the week. I don't really understand the movement, although I think there could be a little bit of a Vegas head fake there. Georgia Tech all the way for me here.
Market Trends and Opinions
Yeah. And I think this is a good time to say that, you know, some of the people who say, well, I can't bet something, look at the movement. I think that's really overrated. I mean, you know, if you have enough, if you feel strongly enough about it, I don't think you should just stay away something just from something just because of market movement. So if you like Georgia Tech. If you didn't like it that much to start with, and I could see staying off of it because of market movement. But I mean, what does somebody really know about North Carolina here?
Digging Deeper into Movement Trends
I mean, they can't know too much, right? I want to jump in there on your moving point last week, there were, there was a bunch of curious movement, and so during Saturday, there was some lull in the afternoon, as there always seems to be. And I went through and I looked at any number that had moved, like genuinely across a key number from Wednesday PM to close. And the biggest moves before the move, they were four and seven. After the move they were six and five. So of those eleven, two of them ended up mattering. I largely agree with you that if there's a move, you can usually either figure it out or don't worry about it.
Analyzing the Reactions to Game Trends
Yeah, I think with some of the moves we know why it moved for some of these that we don't know why it moved. I think some people kind of try to outsmart themselves. So that's kind of the point there is, you know, just be careful with that. All right, so we got a lot to get to. Let's jump on into Kansas State and Colorado. Man, do you believe. Here we go. Kansas State, Colorado. We're looking at a line here. Three and a half. There's some threes.
Final Remarks on the Kansas State vs. Colorado Game
I mean, if you like Kansas State, you can get three. You can get three and a half if you like. Colorado, 55 and a half the total. I'll let you guys start here on this one. Let's go. Cle, you go first on this one. Kansas State, Colorado. Yeah, I really like the total in this one, guys. I know it's 55 and a half, but a little bit higher. But I just, I like the way Colorado's been playing offensively, you know, still averaging over 73 plays per game.
Discussion on Kansas State and Colorado Matchup
Maybe a little bit more than pizza money too. I think this is an overplay based on Kansas State has moved the ball pretty well. Their offensive line is good. Colorado, I think they can throw it. Kansas State secondary for the talent that they have. 65th and pass play success rate allowed 70th and opponent QBr I think Colorado can probably move it through the air. I mean, look at the weapons that they have in the passing game. So I like the over there as well. Douglas, what do you think about this Kansas state Colorado?
Skepticism Towards Colorado
I believe your question was do you believe. No, no. I don't know. I. Call me a hater. Call me whatever you want. What is Colorado done? They beat up on a Central Florida team that we're quickly starting to think might have some internal problems. They beat up on Colorado State, a bottom quarter of the country quality team. They should have lost to Baylor if Baylor had basic fundamental coaching. I'm out on Colorado. I think we've steamed them for no valid reason. And I think Kansas State's defensive line is going to do what teams do against Colorado's wet grocery bags of an offensive line and go town harassing shadow Sanders.
Devil's Advocate Perspective
Okay, devil's advocate point here. Avery Johnson on the road. What do you think of that? Is that a thing? Like because he has struggled badly on. The road, he had a bad night at BYU. We've seen people do that before. I'm not willing to write them off from one game. Now, I always had my Kansas State skepticism this preseason because of their offensive line. I'm saying I don't believe in Colorado because I do believe in Kansas State's defensive line, which I suppose you combine those two thoughts, maybe I should look at an under. I hadn't really thought about it until I say these things out loud. But overall, no, I don't believe in Colorado because you need to have an offensive line to win games like this.
Analyzing the Defensive and Offensive Row
Yeah, your point makes sense. I mean that. That Baylor game. At the end of the game, if they hadn't gotten the Hail Mary, which, like you said, how did that even work? If they hadn't gotten that, there were going to be a lot of questions about, you know, where they actually add and then now they beat UCF. Let's see. I mean, UCF might not actually be very good, so I don't know. Yeah, it's interesting to see the market movement here. I want to see what Joey has to say about this one. Is this a home dog that you like or nothing? Give me the buffs. Yes. Avery is. I mean, he's. I think he's going to end up costing his team the game in this one. I bet he turns over the ball. Honestly, he has a huge problem throwing under pressure this year.
Concerns Over Quarterback Performance
He has a 29 passer rating. Yes, 29 under pressure this year. That is a big problem. He's not behind that great of an offensive line. I'm looking at the numbers right now. I do believe that green, the second and Cokes will be able to put some pressure on Avery Johnson. And those corners are pretty darn solid for Colorado. I've been willing to wager that Avery Johnson throws a pick in a crucial moment and that's going to be the difference in this one. It's going to be a close one throughout. I'm back in the way. Better quarterback shadow Sanders does not turn over the ball. Yes. Everyone's going to point to that one game in Nebraska where he threw that horrible pass. But overall, I'm looking at the numbers right now.
Comparisons of Quarterback Metrics
Can anyone guess what his turnover worthy play percentage is? 5%. .78%. Yes. I was thinking Avery seven eight. And he's got a 5.88% big time throw percentage compared to Avery Johnson's 2.6%. If there's a way you beat Kansas State's defense this year, it's through the air with big plays. They're definitely susceptible to that. I'm back in the better quarterback. He's going to protect the ball. This is a close matchup. I love the home dog in this spot and I think Colorado is on the map. And if you do think that they're going to win this game, I recommend that you probably pull out a big twelve future and you pull out a college football player future because the schedule opens up pretty greatly down the stretch here for them.
Thoughts on Colorado's Future
If they could get through this one. Joey is believing here, that's for sure. All right. And Cam rising is back in the game. Is that right? Two for nine. Now I think he's going to be out soon. He just doesn't look right. I mean, wow. All right. What are we trying to do anyways? All right, Duck. Colorado, Kansas State. What do you think here? I can't hear you. Can anybody else hear him? Nah. Is Mike off right now? He's not muted, but. Okay. We'll try to circle back. All right. So Joey is believing in Colorado. It's. It's hard for me to believe that Joey, that Colorado could be a playoff team. And that's not me hating. That's just, you know, their deficiencies as a team.
Analyzing Colorado's Playoff Prospects
It seems hard to believe they could be a playoff team. But the big twelve is wide open. Wide open. And that's why I'm saying pull out those futures is because of the value. Because if they get through these next two games, right, that they are going to have to travel to Arizona and that will not be an easy game. That's, again, another situation where Noah Fida turns over the ball a little bit more than shadow. And I trust that offense has enough weapons to be in that game. Then they get Texas Tech, they play Utah. Who knows who's going to be playing quarterback for them at that point? And then they get Kansas and Oklahoma State.
Vulnerable Situations for Upcoming Games
In my opinion, those are all very winnable games. And all it takes is winning a game like this to springboard a team for the rest of the season. We've seen it so many times over the course of several years now. This team has the talent on the offensive side of the ball to play with anybody. I don't see how. We don't see value in that spot. You know what I mean? All right, duck, you back for Colorado? All right. Yeah, I'm here. I want to love Colorado in this spot. The problem is, it's like, what would this line be in the situation? I'm sorry, repeat that question. I missed you.
Challenges in Betting Dynamics
Spaces does not like duck here. Yeah, he cut out halfway through. Yeah, man, we can't hear you again. All right, so I know he said he wants to like Colorado here, but I think what he's saying is the price is just too not what it would have been at this point. Kansas State, I mean, I think they were probably more than a touchdown favorite. Wow. Northwest, 36 to ten. Joey, that's looking fantastic, man. What a game. I am very happy I ended up doing what I said. How does Mike Loxley continue to have a job? I mean, I just saw a huge defense deficiency on the offensive line and that has played out big time for Maryland in this game.
Reflections on Team Performances
I mean, Billy Edwards junior has no time to throw the ball. And, I mean, it's been a difference in this one. I don't, I don't know how. I don't know how Maryland wins another game in a big ten this year. I mean, schedule, this is not the. First time we've seen Maryland do that either, where at the beginning of the year they look like they're pretty good. And then Locksley's teams kind of just fall apart little by little. So, yeah, it shouldn't be shocking to anybody. All right, let's go to the next game. Let's go Iowa. Washington. Washington at Iowa.
Evaluating Washington vs. Iowa
All right. I have an opinion on this game a decent amount, so I will save that and let's see what the guys think here. Let's start with Douglas. I feel like he might have an opinion on this. I'm just guessing. Who knows? Washington and Iowa. You can get two and a half with extra juice if you like Iowa, three if you like Washington. I rarely make situational plays. Like I said earlier, that fading Cal in a situational spot was an anomaly for me. There's a situational claim here of take Iowa.
Situational Claims on Game Strategy
Washington's coming off that big win. I would rather counter it with Washington. Just beat the better version of Iowa, beating Michigan. I think that is what we can. Michigan has more talent, but it's running the Iowa offense and defense right now. So if Washington found its way through that, I'm willing to say I think Washington can find its way through worse. Iowa, otherwise known as Iowa, is. It. Isn't Iowa's offense now better than Michigan's? You can.
Debate on Offensive Performance
You can argue that, but anytime you start a sentence with Iowa's offenses better than. I'm going to stop listening to you pretty quickly. I mean, I'm just saying, I mean, Michigan's awfully one dimensional. I mean, who can throw a pass on that team? You are absolutely correct. But it's a, it's still the Iowa premise to its core. Yeah, I get it. I get it. So lean in Washington there. All right, Joey, what do you think? Here, hawkeye, you want to come back to me on this one?
Challenges in Pulling Up Numbers
I'm just having a tough time pulling up my numbers real quick. Yeah, cool. Cle, what do you think here? I lean the under. I'm. I'm not going to play it. I'll be honest with you, Kyle, but I lean towards the under. I think this is going to be a slower paced game. I mean, we know both teams love to run the football i will save. Kaden matimer did complete a 15 yard pass last week compared to anything I saw out of Michigan.
Reflections on Game Strategy
So with that said, I, on the sidewise, I do lean Iowa. I think the personnel is a little bit better, but it's. It's just honestly, it's a. Stay away from me and I'll just, you know, watch it and see what happens. All right. All right. So let's see. I'll go ahead and give my opinion, then we'll go to Joey here. Let's go. I mean, Washington is 58th in strength of schedule so far this year. I was 9th.
Analysis on Strength of Schedule
Sagren, strength of schedule. So Washington, they brought up these really impressive yards per play margins, but they also are terrible in special teams. I mean, you guys should know this by now. They should just stop kicking field goals unless they have somebody else. And when it comes to Washington with penalties, over 70 penalty yards per game, Iowa, 20 penalty yards per game, I think this is one of those spots where the numbers, if you just look at success rates, yards per play margins, things like that, they're going to like Washington better than they should because the small things like penalties, you know, not finishing drives, is a weakness for them.
Final Thoughts on Iowa vs Washington
So I liked Iowa minus two and a half. I still lean Iowa even at minus three. It is hard for me to lay points with Iowa. So, you know, once you get to three or more, it's not something I'm too excited to do, but I just want to fade Washington because that was a pretty big win for them last week and Michigan had the lead late in the game. Michigan has a really good defense, but the offense is major problem. I think Ferenc's team is pretty well known for being fundamentally sound. So I like Iowa in this one.
Transition to Vanderbilt and Kentucky Game Discussion
Joey, what do you think about this one, man? This one is tough because you just outlaid, basically outlined all the reasons not to bet Washington. I mean, it's really going to come down to honestly how good that offensive line holds up for Washington. I mean, the offensive line is pretty bad. It looks like an undergame to me. It really is going to come down to, and has it come down to in so many games, as we've seen for Washington, are they going to kill themselves in special teams and penalties?
Final Observations on Upcoming Matches
If they do, they'll lose this one just like they've lost their other games this year. But I wouldn't be afraid to back Washington simply because Will Rogers is been so darn good this year. But right now it's a pass for me. We'll see if it changes overnight. All right, let's look at the next game here. If we can get duck back on here, we'll probably get his thoughts because I think he had something he liked in that game as well. I know he was having some mic and connection issues.
Game Analysis and Opinions
I kind of feel like I should have, but what do you think on this game? I mean, it might be a square play at this point, but I like Vanderbilt as well. I think that you just, you've got to recognize that with the player personnel that they brought in the offseason, Vanderbilt, the entire complexion of their team has changed. They're no longer like the easy out exhale spot in the SEC that they've been in the past. And the couple games against Missouri and Alabama have proved that. And so I think it's really hard to lay a bunch of points with this team. Pavia is clearly a game changer at quarterback. He was that weight in New Mexico State and they won a lot of games they shouldn't have really been in while he was there. And I just, I'm going back to the. Well, I saw a 14 flash and so I took Vanderbilt at plus 14. I would still take it at 13 and a half or twelve and a half. When you look at Kentucky, they've scored 620 and twelve points in their SEC games.
Vanderbilt's Game Intent
And I would assume this game is lower scoring, but I just don't know that Kentucky is going to be able to extend the margin substantially against Vanderbilt. In a game where Vanderbilt's taking this game very seriously, I don't think there's going to be as much of a hangover as you might think, from a Vanderbilt team that still needs to pile on the wins for bowl eligibility. And I mean, when you look at the bowl game situation. For a lot. Of SEC teams really matter. But for Vanderbilt, who hasn't made. Breaking up there, man. Yeah, I think this definitely means a lot to a team like Vanderbilt. So can they get there even in a bad spot? It'll be interesting to see. All right, let's go. Let's go. Yeah. Shout out to guys reaching new highs for listeners here. Appreciate all you guys. Give the guys a follow. Joey Douglas, Klee, duck. All great information here tonight. We're watching Arizona State just march down the field here against Utah here, man.
Northwestern's Performance
You notice Arizona state's quarterback is Jeff sims. Oh, yeah. Kyle, while we have a little bit of a break here, I want to take the chance to take my victory lap here on northwestern. That was incredible to watch. I mean, I I didn't expect 37 to ten, but I knew Maryland's offensive line was really bad and that was ultimately the difference in this one. I don't know if Maryland wins another game in the big ten this year, I'll be honest. Sounds. Sounds fine to me. I think I got Maryland under four and a half wins in the big ten. I paid some juice for that, but I can't imagine that one losing at this point. Yeah. Good pick there for sure. Plus a pretty big number. And I assume 310. Yeah. You put some on the money line, right? Yeah, of course, if I only. I only bet dogs if I think they're gonna win outright. And this one really paid off. Hit a couple in a row.
Betting Insights
I had Houston outright last week, too. Nice, nice. On a Friday night again. Yeah. All right, we have a question here. Btc bulldogs asking my opinion on Idaho and Montana state. I can't give you any kind of opinion on this game if one of the other guys can. I really don't know fcs that well. Obviously, I know that both of these are very good teams and fcs, but as far as the opinion on the total, I don't want to give you something when I really just don't have any opinion. So I will pass on that one and say that I'm not really best suited to answer that question. All right, let's go to a big game here, guys. I'm going to let you guys talk about this one first, but we've got ohio state at Oregon. Ohio state land three total of 54. Let's go. Douglas first on this one.
Ohio State vs. Oregon Analysis
Douglas, what do you think here? Hold on. I got to go back to the previous game you just mentioned. I'm pulling up the final sheet here. I see Idaho, montana state as an under. I'm putting that around 45 and all. Currently got that at 54 and a half. Now then, the lesser worrying game, Oregon, Ohio State. That's what you're asking me about, right? Yeah. Yeah. I do believe I saw you and I are on the same side on this one. I'm going to say maybe a bold claim. I think Ohio State's underrated. I think that's where I am with this. I think Ohio State is far and away the best team in the country with Texas the only one within range. And I look at Oregon, its offensive line has been a struggle. I look at Ohio State, it's got multiple divisions of lineman that if not for nil, would be on NFL rosters.
Game Predictions and Insights
Right there. My handicap is done. Just like Kansas State, Colorado. If I see that kind of disparity in an offensive line against defensive line, I'm going to go with the defensive line, especially when the rest of the roster is as talented as Ohio State's. Yep, we're on the same side here. That was my free play. Ohio State minus the points. I don't bet Ohio State games very often. If this was four, I was going to leave it alone even three and a half. But Ohio State has so much talent. The offensive line has been playing so well. Oregon has not been able to stop the run very well. I think Henderson and Judkins could both have a good game here, and even Howard in the run game could be pretty good. So I did take Ohio State.
General Observations
This is not a huge bet for me. I'm mainly rooting for Ohio State as a fan, but hopefully they cover the three in this one as well. Dylan Gabriel, too, so he's been a little off. Some bad decisions last week. His average depth to target is way down. So I'm wondering what's going on there. Ohio State secondary is great. Caleb Downs has really helped in a big way. Knowles defense is excellent. So even though it is a tough spot, you know, going into Oregon, Eugene, I'm going to take Ohio State there in that one. All right. I want to bring duck back into the conversation. It's funny talking Oregon Ducks in Ohio state, but I know that the listener had a question on the FCS game and I know Duck is specializes in FCS.
Expert Opinions on FCS Game
He knows it extremely well. So can you give an opinion on that total? Yes, I can. So I wrote this game up. I have a sizable position on under 54 and a half. Montana State runs the ball on 70% of the offensive snaps that they have deployed this season. They only have ten explosive runs over 20 yards in five games against FCS. Competition. Competition. And they have played substantially weaker competition than the Idaho front seven. So mercy, Hearst, Maine, Utah Tech, Northern Colorado, these defenses are just atrocious at the FCS level and so Idaho is going to provide some significantly stronger challenges in the defensive front seven than what Montana State is used to this season. Montana State has also kind of fallen out of love with the quarterback run which they deployed last year with Tommy Millett and also Sean Chambers, who transferred from Wyoming.
Offensive Challenges for Teams
He's gone. So they've kind of gone away from a little bit of the quarterback power and the quarterback run which they fell in love with last season. On the Idaho side, they have significant challenges on offense. One of their tight ends, Jake Cox, is out for the season. He's got a couple touchdown receptions and they're starting to. Quarterback Jack Lane is out for the foreseeable future and they're actually rotating in their second and third string quarterback. Their second string quarterback has a lingering shoulder injury. So Idaho is down to primarily their third string quarterback. They're going into a tough environment and they're going to be extremely conservative on offense. I think Montana State has motivation to win the game, obviously coming off revenge from last year's loss against Idaho on the road, but both of these teams are run heavy.
Game Predictions and Projections
The defensive line is really strong. If you go back and look at the first half, second half splits for Montana State. Montana State has played in a bunch of blowouts this year and so their defense has given up significant yardage and points in the second half of their last four games with their rotational players playing. But I don't think this game is going to be a blowout and so the first string is going to be in for the entire game, the first half. The last four games, Montana State has given up a total of 14 points in the first half and so their set for their first string players are really solid on defense. They're going to create problems for Idaho. Idaho is going to provide some significant challenges to Montana State for what we've seen, compared or compared to what we've seen from Montana state competition wise in the last four or five FCS games.
Final Thoughts on the Game
I think this game is going to go way under 54 and a half. My numbers have 42 or 43. I would play under. All right, I'm betting this one as we're doing the space. So Douglas and Doc have both made me like the under running game, not playing that fast. I'll take that under as well. So, first time, I think this is the first time I've bet while we've been doing this. So live bet here. Here we go. Live bet alert. There is absolutely no chance that is true. We've been doing these for, what, two seasons now? There is no chance you haven't placed bets while we've been on air. We all know this is at least the first time I've lived bet an FCS game.
Transitioning to Other Games
That is for sure. Okay. That might be logical. All right. It's been a while since I've been. That one. While we've been talking about, but I'm gonna go with you guys on the under here in this one. I like it. What time is this? What time is that game tomorrow? 1015 Eastern. Okay. Is that televised anywhere or no? ESPN two. Big ESPN two. Nice. All right, so watch the Colorado game and that one at the same time. That's gonna be fun. Hawaii, Boise State also warrants at least some mention here. Come on. That's gonna be on the third tv.
Intense Game Expectations
Got three. So we'll go with. We'll go with that one, too. Ashton Gente, I think he's already scored. Three touchdowns with rush for 200 yards. Right. And will he play the whole game? All right, so let's go back to Ohio State in Oregon. Did I cle. I haven't asked you about that one yet, right? No, you haven't, but I'm right there with you guys. I just think, at the end of the day, Ohio State has so many ways they can beat you, whether it's on the ground with Henderson and Jenkins.
Diverse Play Strategies
And now they kind of started using Howard in the run game a little bit more last week against Iowa. And then. All right, if you want to shut down the run, all right, try to figure out how to slow down Jeremiah Smith. And I'm Bucca and the rest of the slick that they have out there. The defense has been excellent this year for Ohio State. Yes. Dylan Gabriel has completed around 77 sign of his passes, but he has been kind of iffy in the red zone. He's through two interceptions last week in the red zone against Michigan State. That secondary for house state has been great.
Analyzing Defensive Strengths
The addition of Caitlin Downs has been phenomenal for them. And I just think, you know, there's another factor of this is Ohio state's been just killing teams in second half. So, games, I know that the level of competition is going up here, but I think it's like 117 to ten in the second half of games so far this year. The one touchdown was a, you know, a garbage time touchdown last week by Johnson, the running back by Iowa. So if I were, excuse me, Morgan wants to be in this game and win this game, they better be up at halftime because the adjustments that Jim Knowles and Chip Kelly have been making at halftime have been great for Ohio State.
Final Game Predictions
And so I like the Buckeyes. I like a minus the points here. I think they get the job done and I, you know, they improve, and I think they're your number one team in the country come the polls on Monday. A good point about Knowles adjustments at halftime, too. If, if the Buckeyes are down just slightly or tied at halftime, Buckeyes second half could be a good bet in this one, too, the kind of adjustments they've made. All right, Joey, I know you like home dogs, so I'm curious, are you going home dog here or not here? Ohio State has two elite running backs, and you guys highlighted. Oregon really has not been great against the run, and I just can't get Ashton gentee out of my head against this Oregon team.
Evaluating Oklahoma vs. Texas
I could really see judkins get going like he did. I wouldn't be surprised. This ohio state, I don't know if I'd call them under rated, douglas. I mean, they've kind of been on my radar all year. They're that good. And I wouldn't be surprised what a double digit win at oregon. Honestly, I think that's how good this team is here. Yeah, I, I think if Ohio state wins this one, they'll probably be number one, but it could be also determined, but somewhat by the game that we're going to talk about next. So let's talk about the next game here. Texas and oklahoma.
Line and Predicted Outcomes
Let's see the line here. About 14, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong on that one. I'm trying to find it. Texas, oklahoma, 14, I think 51 or so was the total, the last I saw on this one. I really don't have anything I like in this one, to be honest with you. So I want to see what the guys have to say about this one. I'm going to circle right back here to Joey on this one. What do you think? Texas in Oklahoma? I mean, it's tough to justify 15 in this rivalry. I mean, 15, that's where the numbers sitting at right now.
Rivalry Game Considerations
Wow. At 15 and a half, actually, it's climbing. I'm going to wait to see how far this number gets steamed. I also don't think event upright venerables defense is going to get blown out of the water like that. I mean, they held their own against Tennessee with Jackson Arnold basically handing Tennessee the game. I realized Tennessee might not be on Texas level, but they're still pretty close in quality of play. I'm going to take the 15 with Oklahoma and I'm going to be honest with you, I might sprinkle a little money line on Oklahoma as well. I just think the numbers far too wide and the values definitely on Oklahoma in this spot.
Final Insights on Texas vs. Oklahoma
Yeah, I think this is a variance type game. I think if you like Oklahoma, you should put something on the money line because we've seen far stranger things happen. Texas is great, though, so we'll see what happens. But I could see it. I mean, there's plenty of outcomes and it's got to be a huge price. Dreams and under game to me at 49, I'm getting 15 and a half points. I mean, I'll probably, I'm probably end up taking ou. That might go back up, too. I mean, it's a couple 49 and a halfs. We'll see what happens.
Betting Opportunities
But I could see 49 and a half or 50. And as far as the money line there, I mean, money line in that one, like plus 550, I mean, that's, that is a huge number. So let's see. Let's see what the other guys think here. I want to go to Douglas. What do you think? Texas and Oklahoma? I've tried to step back and think about this one from a long distance because I felt so convinced and I can't find anything to caution myself. I, I'm all over Texas now. I got Texas at the two touchdowns.
Rivalry Analysis
I know what's going north of that. But mostly I just, I hear you. It's a rivalry game. It's variants on and on. I can't find any reason to believe in Oklahoma. It doesn't have an offense and it's going against what is a really good Texas defense. If Texas was one dimensional, then yeah, there's a pretty quick conversation to be had here if this is going to get screwy somehow. But Texas is such a well rounded team. I cannot find a way that Oklahoma is going to score, let's say 20.
Final Reflections
I mean, I know earlier in the week the team total was 16 and a half or 17. I can't find a way to believe in Oklahoma scoring in this game. And last time I checked, you need to score to win that is true. That is absolutely true. Guys, a lot of people listening right now. The listenership going up pretty fast. People like these late night spaces. So appreciate everybody who's joining in right now. Give the guys a follow. Klee, Douglas, joey, and step on a duck. They guys, given some good insight tonight.
Ole Miss Defense and LSU's Offense
I think that Ole misses defense is actually pretty good. Their first in the nation and tackles for a loss by wide margin. Ten and a half tackles for a loss, which is excellent. LSU's offensive line is good, definitely in pass protection. They're not good running. I don't think they can run here so Nuss Meyer better be ready to throw it. Problem is like a ton of their wide receivers are injured not playing here. So I think LSU could cover even staying under that 30 and a half. So my lean is Ole Miss here, but Death Valley at night is always tough.
Betting Insights on LSU vs Ole Miss
I almost bet the under when it was 64 and a half. It's just Ole Miss in LSU. I mean the kind of pace you can play at as many times I think LSU will be throwing. It scared me a bit, but I did take LSU team total under 30 and a half. Interesting game. Looking forward to this game for sure. So that was my bet. Not one of my biggest of the week, but I did bet that one. I've done pretty well in the team totals. I probably just jinxed myself by saying that, but the team totals have been pretty good. It's not my favorite of the week, but I am gonna root for that. And I think Ole Miss, if it had been at minus two and a half still, I think I would have taken ole miss there. So as soon as that went up, flew past the three, decided to go with the team total instead.
Florida vs Tennessee Overview
All right, last game, let's go. I want to see what your guys opinion is on Florida and Tennessee. 14. Tennessee favored by 14. This one was 17. It's down to 14. Maybe somebody knows something that I don't hear. Tennessee -14 flashing at circa bovada. 14 and a half. A lot of other places still. So you can get either shop around. Definitely, man. What are we supposed to think? I mean, and what was Niko doing on the last play last week? I mean, just ran right out of pounds. I mean, of all the things that you could have done right there, just throw it straight up in the air would have been far better than that.
Niko's Performance and Florida's Opportunities
Nico is fantastic. A lot of fun to watch, but the awareness there was just nothing. So, Florida, are people buying Florida now because of their good performance last week? Are they wanting to fade tennessee? I need you guys to tell me what you're thinking on this one. I have not bet this one. I will not bet this one. But I want the listeners to get some good insight on this one. Joey, why don't you start us off? I'm going to take the Gators in this one. Yeah. I have not been impressed with Tennessee through two weeks. I thought they should have lost Oklahoma. And I mean, I can't explain Nico's play against Arkansas.
Tennessee's Challenges and Florida's Defense
I understand Florida's defense could be really leaky, but grand merch can win games. I mean, it's really going to come down to how well Florida's offensive line plays, which has been a problem at times this year. But Tennessee doesn't have that strong of a pass rush and I think. I think 15 is just too wide here. I will 14 now, excuse me, but I think 14 is just. It's just way too wide. I'm actually seeing 16 and a half at Fandor right now. Let me just double check that on my board. But if it's at 16 and a half, I'm taking that right now. Sorry, I have to pause here because I can't believe I'm seeing that.
Market Movement and Betting Strategies
I hoping it's not an error. It's not an error. It's 16 and a half Fanduel. That's interesting. I see that online. I'm going to place that. I'm going to place that right now because I don't think there's any way that numbers there tomorrow. It's interesting to see 1414 and a half and then a 16 and a half. Pretty rare, especially for a Friday night. Yeah, interesting. All right, so you're trusting. Are you trusting the Gators defense to kind of hold down here? I think it's more. So I'm trusting that Niko's bad play is going to continue, if I'm going to be honest in this one.
Mixed Opinions on Tennessee vs Florida
Yeah, I'm right there with you. Ever since Nico started playing defense is not named Chattanooga and Kent State, the offense has gone down the twos. We saw it against Oklahoma and then obviously in the last week against Arkansas. So, yeah, I like that 16 and a half, too. I double checked the number when he said it and yeah, it's definitely there in Fanduel, but I couldn't believe that. That's why I was like, you gotta give me a second. I gotta place this right now. I immediately went on the app myself, and I just think, you know, Florida's progressively getting better. I wouldn't say they're a juggernaut or anything, but enough to keep it within, you know, 16 and a half for sure.
Understanding Florida's Recent Performance
But, yeah, as these guys said, I just think the offense has, once they face actual defenses, you know, there's some growing pains going on right now with Nico at quarterback. I think he's going to be good, don't get me wrong. But, yeah, when you're. We're not playing Chad Nuger or Kent State or Marla, the poor and the blind, it. You'll see what happens. So, yeah, so, yeah, getting the Florida plus the 16 and a half, are. You suggesting that Kent State is a bad defense? There may be some bias because of my relation to Akron, but, yeah, you know, not great.
Douglas's Strategy on Florida vs Tennessee
All right, Douglas, give me something here. Florida, Tennessee, what do you think? I have had exactly one Florida handicap all season. I will keep with that same handicap all season long. If and when Florida falls behind ten points in this game, I will live bet alternate Tennessee numbers because we have seen Florida fall behind and fold up. It does not fight in the second half. It is willing to just resign those games. And Tennessee would run it up. Josh Hypo would run it up. Josh Hypo definitely is willing to run it up.
Evaluating Total and Performance Insights
So that's a good point. If we get in that game script. Doc, what do you think about this one? Also the total? Curious your thoughts on the total? It's moved up a decent amount here. Yeah, I really don't have a strong position on the game either way. I think that we've seen Tennessee on the road struggle. It was shocking that they lost against Arkansas and that they couldn't move the ball, they couldn't sustain drives, they couldn't really have it. They had no real continuity on offense, which was really surprising. Not as surprising at Oklahoma.
Game Analysis and Future Predictions
With the Oklahoma first SEC game at home with a pretty solid defense, but with Arkansas, it was really shocking back home. I think it could be a different circumstance. And I like what Douglas said. I think once Tennessee gets up a couple of scores, golly, the route could really be on here. I still don't think Florida is very good. Yeah, they beat UCF. They beat the worst team in the SEC. Mississippi State. Yeah. I'm still not impressed. And so I could see this one.
Tennessee's Potential Offense
I could see Tennessee putting up a big number here if I had to. If I had to play the total, I would likely play over here. I think Tennessee could end up in the forties. So what's Florida got to get to cover this number? 31? I just don't see the Gators really doing that on the road again. I don't have a real strong position on the game, but I think Tennessee will score a lot of points and kind of get right and get their season back on track here. And so I would lay it, if pressed or take a Tennessee team total over.
Analyzing Underdogs and Early Betting Trends
All right, all right. We broke down a lot of games. I want to respect everybody's time here. Let's get to the underdogs here. And guys, you remember three and a half points or larger underdogs that you think have a good chance to win outright. You can be bold. You can go for a, you know, ten or twelve point underdog you think has a real shot. You can go three and a half or four point. I'm gonna let everybody else go first because I have a few that I was at least considering.
Finding Value in Underdog Bets
So anybody who wants to go ahead and say an underdog that they would take on the money line, go ahead and shout it out. I'd like to dispute the premise because you are excluding the underdog to take this week. That's okay. You can use it for best bet. No, I'm going to use it as many times as I can. I don't have an underdog or three and a half for more. I only have eastern Michigan down to two. I believe you're getting at 115 or 118.
Analyzing Eastern Michigan's Potential
Now. I don't know if I have a bigger underdog this week. Some to cover, sure, but not necessarily to win. I see a couple. Plus 120. So plus 120 on eastern Michigan. I knew he was going to Chris Creighton. Okay, can I play devil's advocate here and say that Miami is played such a tougher schedule than has eastern Michigan? Does that worry you at all? It does not worry me at all because Miami, Ohio played.
Concerns with Miami and Eastern Michigan's Success
You're, you're trying to credit me with Northwestern tonight aside, congratulations. It beat Mike Loxley, who apparently was the offensive play caller. I don't really know what's going on with Maryland at the moment. Miami, Ohio has just been disappointing, whereas eastern Michigan has exceeded expectations. Each and every week I get Chris Creighton as a home underdog and another opportunity to exceed expectations. I'm delighted. I will. I will take that.
Final Thoughts on Betting Picks
You know, I'll take that. Every single opportunity I have. I cannot blame you. This is one that I circled that I wanted to bet. I thought I'd be getting six and a half or seven points at least, and instead it's two and a half. So I ended up laying off. But I get it and I definitely lean that way as well. So fair there. Joey Klee. Doc, you got one you like here? Yeah, I'll go with UFC.
Rounding Up Underdog Bets
Plus 155 in the money line. I think they get the job done and I, again, I think last week was they got caught looking ahead. I like. I like LC at home. All right. Rice here. I'd say rice at home off a buy. Their losses against Sam Houston. University of Houston army certainly aging well. I think that UTSA is just really weak and nothing really sure, not really sure they should be giving six on the road here.
Risk and Reward with Rice's Performance
I'm not really convinced after they've their wins against Kennesaw State and Houston Baptist. When you look at the rest of the schedule, they've been really bad. And so this could be a kind of a get right spot for Rice. They out gained Charlotte. They, they played pretty well in that game despite losing by one point. And I, I could see Rice providing a spirit at home effort here and winning outright on the field against UTSA.
Evaluating Game Outcomes
All right, that's a tough one. That's kind of a sicko special, but I like it. All right, Joey, what do you like here? Give me West Virginia over Iowa State outright. I really like the spot. Iowa State's offensive line is not very good. I believe that Bradley and Jackson can cause some serious problems on the edge for Iowa State. PFF has Neil, the left tackle for Iowa State, ranked at 573rd out of 632 quality qualified tackles, and Miller ranks 470th out of 632 tackles.
West Virginia's Advantages
They're going against two very strong edge, Reg edge rushers, Bradley and Jackson. I think that they cause problems if they're getting home to the quarterback. I'm not too worried about the secondary at all. I think that this West Virginia offense is strong enough as well to move the ball against Iowa State. All right, I want to say to Kiev, who's usually on here from the odds breakers, did send me a message and say he wanted to say that his would have been a Kiev.
Celebrating Anniversaries Amid Discussions
It's his anniversary today, so happy anniversary and a good enough reason to be missing the spaces here tonight. So his play was going to be UCLA here as his dog, which so. Crazy because that was my second one. If somebody took West Virginia, that one doesn't make sense. That one does make sense. The spot is pretty good and it's a bad spot for Minnesota. So that makes sense to me.
Miscellaneous Betting Strategies
I'm going to go here. It's funny because Nate, who's listening here, says sensei wins out. Right. That's gonna be my play, too here. Sensei, plus three and a half. I'm gonna take Cincinnati. I see. What? Plus 140? Plus. Yeah, probably about plus 140 on the money line. I'm gonna take Cincinnati here. UCF has to prove it to me. I mean, in the preseason they were supposed to be good.
Looking Ahead to Future Games
KJ Jefferson looks like something's wrong with them. Source be played well for Cincinnati. So I have to take Cincinnati here. I think they have a good shot to win this one outright. So that will be my play here for the underdog. All right, best bet time. Let's go with one best bet. It can be anything. You can go team totals, you can go full game total, anything you like. It doesn't have to be anything we talked about already.
Best Bets and Final Thoughts
Or it can be one we talked about already. I start. Klee, do you have anything that stands out to you as a best bet here? I know it's a lot of points, but I really love Illinois. Minus the 22 and a half against Purdue, the Boilermakers have quit, players suspended. Illinois is coming off a by. This is also, I guess, not revenge, but just doesn't like the head coach of Purdue because what he did after he left in terms of taking coaches and stuff.
Evaluating Illinois' Potential
So I think Illinois wins this game. I think they run it up out of. I, as I said, I think produce quit. You know, Wisconsin put up 50 plus on them a week ago. We've seen how bad that defense is and I think Illinois runs it up here. So, yeah, Illinois -22 and a half. I like their team total as well here. Yeah, that one makes sense. I think Purdue did beat them pretty badly last year, too.
Analyzing Multiple Perspectives
So it's like multiple angles here of Illinois wanting to get back at him. Belem are definitely not liking this situation. I I mean, Purdue looks like they don't care at this point, so I don't blame you at all on that play. Douglas, anything that stands out as a best bet here, you know, the one. From my best bet column that we haven't gotten to that is not just an absurd, idiotic total is Wyoming.
Wyoming's Potential as an Underdog
I originally got them as a plus money short underdog, and now that's a pick them or a point favorite. You're getting a freshman quarterback from San Diego State on the road at Laramie. San Diego State's offense is. It's hard to imagine because it's head coach Sean Lewis, like. Their offenses, is a special level of bad. Right now I'm taking Wyoming at home simply because that game might be 70, that game might be ten three.
Final Thoughts on Game Outcomes
But in both those situations, Wyoming is going to be far more comfortable than San Diego State will be. Yeah, both of those teams, I mean, Wyoming, far worse than I thought they would be. San Diego State far worse than I thought they'd be, especially offensively. I think he'll figure it out on offense for San Diego. Stage is probably not going to be this year, so that one makes sense to me.
Joey's Betting Insights
All right, Joey, best bet. Give me the buffs for all the reasons outlined in the show. All right, buffs, plus the points there for Joey Duck. I think there might have been a game that you wanted to talk about that was kind off the radar. Any, any other best bet here? Yeah, I'll just quickly resound the sentiments. Illinois is the duffel bag play.
Opportunities for Illinois
If you take all the money, put it in the duffel bag, fly to Vegas and pepper the city with bets. Illinois is absolutely the pound play this weekend, but a second one I love. Ball State. Kent State over. You've got two of the worst defenses at FBS football that are playing. They cannot stop the run. They cannot stop the pass. They're terrible in EPA per play.
Final Betting Recommendations
They do not secure any defensive habit, havoc. And when you look at Ball State and Kent State really has this perception of being a terrible offense because they played Pitt, Tennessee and Penn State early in the season. but they scored 33 points against Eastern Michigan and racked up 422 yards. And Ball State has played two teams, Central Michigan and Western Michigan. Both games soared over Ball State.
Changing Dynamics for Ball State
The entire dynamic of their team has changed compared to last year. They have no defensive fortitude. Their offense is slinging it around. I think both teams will go up and down the field. You'll see a lot of touchdowns. Ball State versus Kent State. Over. 59. 59 and a half. 60. Whatever you can find the best number. But I think that one will soar over. But I just also want to say I love the Illinois play.
Illinois' Will to Win
Purdue has quit. They're going to lay down here. Illinois has some significant motivation to pour it on based on how last year's game went. Love the Illinois this weekend. Yeah, I think Illinois team total over is a bet that I'm going to make. I think that they will try to score as many as they can there. So I think that's. That's a good way to play that one as well.
Final Thoughts on Illinois Team Total
Especially with a total of only 48 and a half. Guys, if anybody sees that one, shout that one out. What is the Illinois team total of? Two and a half. What is it? 32 and a half. Okay. So, I mean, it's up there, but it's understandable for the spread, you know, I mean, this could be 42 to seven and it wouldn't surprise me. So I think.
Conclusion and Wrap Up
I think that's a pretty good bet. Which is a better bet? I'm not sure. What is it -23 or so? -22 a couple places. I think that makes sense, too. All right, I'm going to go here. I had a couple on my mind here in this one. I already gave out Ohio State, which my free play from the newsletter. I'm going to go with Syracuse here.
Syracuse's Recent Performance
I don't know. I mean, Syracuse is down to two and a half some places. NC State has been really bad. Their defense isn't even good. Now, Syracuse, you could say it's a tougher spot because they went to UNLV last week, but I think they moved the ball. Gadsden's a great weapon. McCord has been good. He does have some turnover problems.
Final Play on Syracuse
But, I mean, two and a half, I'm going to have to bet minus two and a half on Syracuse. So that's a personal play that I'm going to make here on Syracuse just because the lines come down that much. So Syracuse will be my bet there. Guys, we've gone a little over an hour and a half. I appreciate your guys's time.
